Yes, performance sucks, even with a good PC—there are weird pop-in and graphics issues. Let’s put that aside because this game is still amazing even with those problems.

If you are a new player:
This is likely the best new game to get into the series. The beginning has a shallower difficulty curve than most Monster Hunter games. Just pick whatever weapon sounds cool and fight some monsters—you’ll figure it out. Wait on looking up guides until you start having difficulty, as there’s almost too much depth here.

If you are a World/ Rise player:
Every weapon has become more fluid. Some finishers have had their damage scaled back so you can use more than just one move (TCS, SAED, etc.), allowing for better use of the full kit. Most moves, while in Focus Mode, let you move around a bit, and you have way more ability to aim attacks. Altogether, this makes combat feel fresh and fluid. All of the equipment abilities seem to have been reassessed and either slightly tuned or outright changed.

The story is there. The cutscenes are beautiful, but they really drag on for a long time.

The new monsters are fantastic—some of them are incredibly creative, and many change much more than just "they are angry" throughout the fight.

The regions are massive but have many fast travel points. The seasons make some areas less playable due to FPS drops, but all of them are amazing.
