Releasing a game in the year of our lord 2025 with a capped framerate and no ultrawide is crazy. Game is good, getting a negative review anyway cause I'm a petty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

My favorite CRPG of all time.

I am so sick of the DEI ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ man, LGBTQ+ rep? Sure. Pronouns? Aight, but why am I being forced to be nice to orlans? Those furry little savages should go back to their jungles and leave the civilised folk of Eora alone!

Jokes aside, this game is surprisingly good. Somehow, Obsidian actually made a game with good combat, its meaty and responsive, and the ranged weapons are all pretty good too. Your companions, however, are basically useless outside of their skills, which are still not that useful. The writing is not as good as Pillars 1 & 2 which is disappointing, but that's to be expected due to the genre shift, you can't put walls of text into an action adventure game after all. Another issue is the massively simplified class system. some classes, like paladin, priest and druid being unavailable makes sense narratively, and rogue, monk and barbarian have been folded into fighter and ranger, but there's no reason why chanter & cipher shouldn't be in the game. Those 2 classes are complete unique to the pillar games and it's a shame not to see them here.
