So, this is the first XCOM I've ever beaten, and did it on Expert Ironman.

XCOM Chimera Squad is not the same as the other XCOMs, it's easier, it's less complicated, you play as heroes instead of grunts, it's buggy and janky in a LOT of places, but.

It was honestly really good. And really fun. And it's the first XCOM I ever beat! I usually fall off from the long length of the campaign, but this one's doable in - well I did it in 28 hours.

By comparison, I've played 100 hours almost exactly of XCOM 2 and never beat it. I just get bored and fall off it, and then when I come back I start a new campaign cause the last one doesn't make sense anymore.
anyway. Chimera Squad is good, the turn order change is really healthy and makes the combat a lot more fluid and complicated, they de-overpowered grenades, you're encouraged to do things largely nonlethally (although as you can see I didn't.) And the pretty much removal of fog of war was also really nice, it makes you actually able to use melee units because you don't break the fog and uncover an inactive pod of enemies right behind the one you're fighting.

TL:DR, the Darkest Dungeon 2 of XCOM. It's a good game. I enjoyed it!

Futuristic hiking simulator with action third person combat elements, along with construction and asymmetrical co-op with other players. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ phenomenal, leave your expectations at the door, release your suspension of disbelief, and just let yourself have a good time by yourself for once.

Buy this game. Kill. 10/10

Great game. Co-op, solo, it does everything great. Support small developers and you'll get gold. (It's good)

It's unfinished and it will never be updated again. If you want to play this alone, don't, if you want to play it with friends, wait for a sale, otherwise, skip it.
