I have not played prior Armored Core games, however now, after finishing the three story routes, I would call myself a fan. Armored Core VI is a new entry point for the series where you really don't need any knowledge of previous games to play, so don't hesitate for that reason.

Armored Core VI has amazing combat, a variety of combat styles thanks to a wide selection of different weapon types and building options for your "Armored Core", and an interesting story to pull you in. Fun and challenging boss fights with good world and story building allows the bosses to feel even more rewarding to beat and enhance that feeling of achievement when doing so.

Highly recommend the game to fans of From Software's popular previous works like the Souls series, Elden Ring, Sekiro, and Bloodborne.
Also highly recommend it to fans of the Ace Combat series, both of these "AC" series share similar structures of game design and story-telling.

I think for anyone who enjoys this game enough to finish the story once should absolutely play-through and finish all three story routes to get the full story and not miss out on any of the missions or boss fights.

Goated

Quickly dying due to terrible updates and lack of addressing of actual issues

it's been many months now and they have done just about nothing to improve the game, no one should expect the game to ever be fixed at this rate.

has potential, but needs a lot of work. there's fun to be had, but it's only found under tons of missed or ruined potential and bad design.

The Classics.

It's pretty good, but also pretty bad. It's almost always got some issues.

If you like Dark/Demon Souls and Bloodborne, you'll like this too. Excellent atmosphere as with all from soft games, and amazing combat similar to the previous soulsborne games, but yet refreshing and new thanks to the new abilities and movement.
