Finally, a creature collector trying to do its own spin on the genre instead of trying to emulate pokemon. Similar enough to be familiar, but different enough to stand on its own. The "Alchemy" system is fun too, type dis/advantage goes beyond just "x does more damage to y, but less damage to z". Certain elements react differently to others and can even change a creatures type, and grant certain buffs/debuffs. (fire melts plastic, turning the plastic type creature to poison type)
A game standing on the shoulder of a giant, lifting off into space on its own merits.

There was indeed bloodshed. 10/10.

A love letter to gaming. Very nice storytelling with lots of content and references to pop culture (mostly games). Really didnt think id enjoy it as much as i did, but its just so well done.

good and fun

Sure, it's not for everyone, but i think generally, farming/exploration games aren't for everyone. It's cute, offers rewarding progression and it definitely gives you enough "story" (in the form of letters + NPC exposition) to feel like you are the rancher that left home for a quieter life.

My only complaint is how tedious and borderline unmanageable the farm becomes, not to mention expensive. You have to walk from this point to that point, which is quite a pain. Yes you have teleporters, but that is more end-game content, and you tend to use the teleports for the exploration part of the game (which is great, albeit also annoying with all the food getting eaten by, sometimes, ungodly amounts of slimes spawning out of nowhere). There are no slime-specific corrale upgrades to make hard-to-keep slimes under control, only offering weird toys that seem to calm the conscience more than actually do sth.
Oh yeah, and those drills/pumps/apiaries are also super annoying. I collect all these plorts and am told its all slime sceince, but then i spend precious time farming EVEN MORE STUFF. Let research be plort only, i dont have the time to farm slime unrelated things to make stuff to help my slime farming. Get plorts --> Make Tech --> get plorts easier, not get plorts --> make machines to collect stuff --> disregard farm --> EVENTUALLY have the stuff you need --> farm is on fire.

Overall i have enjoyed this game very much, despite the quirks, and the added challenge of the above mentioned points might even be the very reason im so invested. I do wish there was more incentive to use all spaces available though, i found that my farm offers everything by only using the Grotto, Lab and overgrowth portions, not even to their full extent, mainly because most slimes lose their value or are too hard to even keep, like pretty much all end-game slimes.

I hope they add more polish and game mechanics without it bloating the game too much.

I wouldnt get too hung up on what is written here, its a very pleasant game to unwind to, and all of the above mentioned negative points are not something that will kill you or rob you of any fun that could be had, if anything its just nitpicking. Very indeed recommend this game, hope its becomes even greater and quirkier than it already is

So i love this game, i do, but jagex really messed it up. There are like 20 players online at a time and half of them are on classic servers. i played this a year ago and there was a bunch of people, but now its completely dead. Shame, i enjoyed it a lot. Gonna recommend it anyway though so people buy it and play it again.
