It's a game that tugs on the nostalgia for old platformers, but avoids the frustrations of the same. Solid platforming, adorable and enjoyable characters, fantastic music.

It was definitely worth paying 27$ for it three years ago!

Alice: Madness Returns is a game that, while suffering from an assortment of small bugs and slight camera problems, knows how to let you enjoy your game. Combat is fast, simple, and fun, where you dodge, block, and attack without any complications.

Platforming is enjoyable, with a quadruple jump and the ability to float, and a mere slap on the wrist should you fall to your death.

And, best of all, the twisted, grotesque worlds and enemies you encounter. Travel across a forest with beautiful imagery (until it all turns to hell, in any case). End up on an assortment of icebergs (and keep a lookout for the sun, he's cool).

Alice's slippage into another round of insanity is a twisted visual treat, with enjoyable combat, just as enjoyable platforming, and did I mention that it's a twisted visual treat? Oh, right, I did. Well, the truth's never felt so good.
