this game has been a roller coaster of bugs, chaos, and fun. this game was definately released too early in terms of the content that was available to the player on launch, since that time it has evolved into one of the best rpg mmos i've played in ages. you want to build an insane house? you have that option. you want to journey around the map blowing stuff up? you have that option. you want to watch paint dry? well maybe skip this one for that....

do you like being a pirate? do you like paving your own adventures? do you like treasure and gold? sea of thieves is the game for you. grab yourself a few friends or sail out solo, it's up to you. this game is great as a time sink or for just relaxing. updated for 2023 fall sale.

the game is hard, even if you crank the difficulty you will die to overheating or cold before you've built any kind of house/structure, you won't understand what tools harvest what parts unless you look up the wiki or experiment for hours, BUT none of that makes it a bad game just hard and unclear in instructions. the games sound design is great, the actual gameplay is great, the enemy design is cool, and the fact that it can be played totally solo or multiplayer is great! if you're looking for a full survival game that you can be a pirate this is it, if you're looking for just ship to ship combat go blackwake or guns of icarus, and if you're looking for a game where you just want to be a pirate stealing from others or searching for riches go sea of thieves

so this is a game i tried on release and left this review: the game as it stands is okay but frustraightingly difficult to understand. you try to buy a car but the price gets artificially jacked up. you try to sell a car and no matter what if the price is even remotely reasonable for a totally reconditioned vehicle, but too high for a buyer well too bad because you only get 3 back and forth to figure how much a car is truely worth. you know you're up for disappointment when you can EASILY fail to sell a car during the tutorial.

Now after some development i have to say there are BIG improvements on the issues i raised, however some of old issues still are there. selling cars to buyers even if you have fully repaired them, buyers tend to want to buy them from you at a loss and negotiating with them generally doesn't work. having many options of sale is great however if you don't look into the price you'd paid for a thing beforehand you can get screwed over financially. at least at this point they added in loans.

Final verdict of 2 different tries each about an hour: Give it a shot it's a free game, if you don't like it. don't buy the final game once it's out, But if you DO like it, Pick up the game when it releases.

I won't be buying the game because it's not my style of game in the end, But i approve of the developers pushing for support and feedback.

it's a fun game to play with friends, highly recommend if it can be grabbed on sale but be warned tons of drug referances, swearing, and illegal activities occur in this game so if those things offend you or make you uncomfortable you may want to look into other games. now with the obvious out the way onto the actual review. the game is starting to show it's age a bit in the graphics category and there are dozens of dlc no longer offered as the ultimate edition but now offered as the ultimate edition bundle. i honestly recommend modding the game after a while but not until you give it a fair play. a big downside is unless you have a bunch of friends the game CAN get a bit toxic if you plan to play online with randos or you can find an awesome crew that will help you progress. the stealth system's a bit rough and difficult to get used to at times but once you get the hang of it it can be super satisfying to see all the time and effort that you put in to plan some of the longer heists playing out perfectly ass you take gold out of a vault without being seen, taking a ton of artifacts from an auction house while a guard patrol suspects nothing, sneaking in and taking down a crime boss and making off with money and drugs from his hidden vault. if the stealthy rout isn't your thing there's still plenty of missions for you as well, there are missions where you destroy a mall to try to cause as much damage as possible, there's a mission where you have to wake up a drunk mall santa and find all the drug presents and other goodies then airlift the tree out of the mall, there's a mission where you have to protect a different criminal from both waves of police and a gang, there's a mission to steal the zombie virus from the left for dead hospital, and if none of that grabbed you there's a mission to take civil war presidential pardons from bellow the whitehouse. if none of those caught you going that sounds cool/fun this isn't the game for you but if all that sounds even the slightest bit fun this is your game. IT'S PAYDAY FELLAS

table top sim is one of the best ways i've found to play some games i haven't had a chance to play in a while.

This game is an awesome cathartic experience. It's odd how fun it is to clean, paint, and remodel a virtual home.if i had to rate the dlc as well i'd say the addition to remodel the yard is great. Highly recommend this even if the game is at full price, deffinately pick the dlc up as well.

amazing robot hunting game

at this point almost every user on steam should own a copy but if you don't yet what are you waiting for? a real zombie apocalypse, don't wait for that or you'll miss out on playing the game!
