"Fears to Fathom – Woodbury Getaway" completely sucked me into its eerie atmosphere from the start. As soon as I stepped into that old, creaky house, I could feel the weight of its history pressing down on me. The dimly lit rooms and shadowy hallways made every step feel like something – or someone – was watching. It wasn’t just the house that got under my skin, but the little details: the wind whistling through the broken windows, the sound of floorboards creaking when I wasn’t moving. Every corner felt like it was hiding something sinister.

The game really plays on the fear of the unknown and the idea that an old house has its own secrets. It’s that classic haunted house feeling, but ramped up. The flickering lights, strange noises, and the isolation really messed with my head. I found myself holding my breath whenever I had to explore another dark room, flashlight in hand, trying to brace for whatever might be lurking.

But, there were a few things that took me out of the immersion. The fishing mechanic, while an interesting break from the tension, felt a bit off. It wasn’t optimized well, and it got a bit frustrating trying to reel in anything. And then there was the flashlight bug – at one point I fell, and the flashlight straight-up disappeared. I couldn’t find it again, and in a game where light is everything, that was a big problem.

Still, despite those issues, the fear of the house stuck with me long after I stopped playing. It’s the kind of game that keeps you on edge, and if you're into slow-burn horror where the atmosphere is king, this one will stay with you.
