I like the game a lot, Movement and mechanics feel really good, but if 90% of your deaths are caused by the limited screen, you didn't know the level by heart and bugs (enemies glitching through canisters while being pushed by them, your surviving boondock bro straight up disappearing after the passive invulnerability runs out), that feels really bad. Also if you grind Iron Bro you have no option of skipping cut scenes nor the helicopter sequences(arcade ironbro mode when?), causing a lot of annoying downtime.

Pixel Art and artworks of the bros look superb but here and there you can see a bit of laziness or things that are forgotten, especially with the new update. Armed villagers are missing a climbing animation and change to Rambro temporarily when climbing and the new suicide bruisers are missing animations for when they are disemboweled by Brochete and just turn invisible but explode shortly after where their body would be. Things like that.
though!

After playing extensively after the update dropped I changed the review to negative. There are just so many bugs. Sometime bros occasionally proc all their specials on a single button press, Brocketeer instantly vanishes into a crater and dies, Broniversal soldier uses all his charges up instantly and unless you always play with those bugs in mind you will wonder where your other two special charges went. The above mentioned Boondock Bros bug is new with this update, too. Ash Brollins doesn't reflect bullets occasionally while using his special, Brominator now sometimes dies while using his special and getting shot at.
If you let the new airship enemy spawn to many terrorists and kill them via gibbing your game will be dying at less than one fps until you change maps. The list goes on and on - it does feel like there was no playtesting.
I really don't like giving a negative review but in hindsight the immense frustration you experience because the game just doesn't work right sometimes isn't something I want to recommend to someone. If you get the game, which I still partly recommend, you should know about the bugs. If you are in the right mindset and consider the occasional bugs a feature, then go for it.

The controls are really bad. Bind the same hoykeys for corner cover, climbing down and opening a grate and you are bound to get problems. Bonus points if you use mouse and keyboard controls and the only jumps your character knows are either 20 meter ones or a straight drop, no variation in between. Also If you use mouse and keyboard you can't check on gadgets like the explosive gel or snap flashes in grates when an enemy is above you for your character will take that one down and die.

Other than that Arkham City doesn't do Assylum justice, the map's gotten bigger but the quality didn't stay the same. The mood is completely lost.

Ragdoll physics that work against you, enemies that break their own rules and questionable rogue-like elements.
Ragdoll elements can block your path but enemies just push them away without any kind of resistance.
Early on you are taught that zombies can only walk forwards and turn to walk curves, except for when you plan with that in mind, then they can moonwalk while winding up and attack because apparently doors interact really weirdly with them.
Lastly, if the only repercussion of dying is that you have to restart the level and you call that a rogue-like, I call that false advertising.

Totally inaccurate hitboxes coupled with extremely slow combat(for the player character) and cynical and illogical dialogue makes for a questionable and part unenjoyable experience.
After playing through the game twice the game is just generally bugged, way too many bugs to count. It does have its charm however. If it's on sale for 5 euros I'd recommend it only if you know what you are getting into. Full price will fill you with regret.

While the Binding of Isaac can be considered a classic and fills me with nostalgia, the game has much that should have been improved. Purely technical the performance problems should have been fixed before the sequel was released.
My three main problems with the gameplay are if you get stuck in runs with low damage as summoning enemies can spawn enemies more quickly than you can kill them. If you want to avoid those runs you got to restart runs and that happens a lot. Got a pill bottle and the first pill gives tears down or speed down? Restart. Got a healing item? Restart. Get an otherwise bad item? You get the idea.
Some bosses like Monstro II are really, really annoying to deal with as they can get stuck in a loop of back to back jumps which causes him to be invulnerable and spawning four enemies every second jump. Some variations of bosses do the same thing and if you combine that with a low damage run, have fun for the next six minutes.
Lastly some design choices are annoying. For example Angel Rooms can only spawn if you have seen a Devil Room in the current instance of your game. Which means your first chance of an Angel Room is already denied if it's your first run since starting the game, which is a hassle if you only plan on doing a single run before doing anything else. But more importantly next to everything money related is a huge pain - if you wanna use your money to play with the luck based slot machines you will waste so much time just watching those animations play but if you don't do that you waste a whole resource entirely. That those animations you have to watch over and over can't be speed up is something very annoying - in addition to that all those animations you just watched can just grant you more money or stuff you don't need! If you decide that you do not have enough patience for the gambling aspect and decide to just visit the shop you will just mostly get a special mini boss, instead of an option to buy items, over and over which just grants you more money you can't spend.

All in all you waste so much time the game is painful to play.

Nearly every run is pain since some enemies are massive bullet sponges. If you enable speedrun mode you can see all the time you waste in rooms because in some rooms waves of enemies just keep spawning in while you can do nothing but observe animations of them while they spawn in just so that you can shoot way too many bullets in them again. You waste so much time since the enemies don't get any harder in the more times they loop through their patterns but just take longer to kill. Unless you get certain weapon combinations, which outclass the majority of other combinations you can get, boss fight last for so long you may get a mental breakdown.
On the bright side the humor is lighthearted most of the time which makes the game very fun for the first few runs you do.

After over five years of it being a known bug, the game still has single player lag.
If it weren't for that I would recommend this

There are a few problems with this mod, for example, in tournaments enemies can spawn directly behind you and depending on the difficulty setting, one shot you without any form of counter play short of the ability to see into the future.
On corpses, the right hand's position resets sometimes to somewhere near the crotch area. This is especially common in the arena.
There are a lot of new features and mechanics, which are quite refreshing.
Those bugs ruin my experience however.

A fun, skill based game. If you are planning on doing a no hit run, ♥♥♥♥ this game. Burn it and completely ignore it.
