DiRT Rally 2.0

Buy it; it’s worth the money.
Dirt has a lot to say.

Rally has always been a delicate dance between danger and safety. Play it safe and be slow, or drive fast, dangerously, and as they say: Fortune Favors The Bold. Dirt Rally teaches these concepts with a rather firm hand. Drive too fast and you incur the risk of a wreck, possibly ending the entire event. Play it safe and you’re driving too slow. It’s within these two boundaries that you succeed, and that’s what Dirt teaches you.
You’re not racing against a person directly; you’re racing their time. Each time you make a mistake, no matter how large or small, it costs time. In the beginning, it’s not that bad, but the higher you climb, the more it becomes evident how punishing it is. The drivers you race against become progressively harder; they make fewer mistakes, they ride the fine line between Safe and Dangerous. They know when to cut loose and when to become cautious.
In time, you’ll learn this, and don’t be discouraged starting out. Nobody is great at the beginning. It is through trial and error that we succeed. You take a turn too fast and roll 3-5 times; you want to stop and restart, but you floor it. Race against the time despite all odds, and you still manage to eke out a win. Perseverance is key. It’s Rally, not Formula 1. The tracks aren’t the same every time, and they aren’t always in the same condition.
Stick with it, and you’ll find one of the greatest racing games of all time, in my opinion.

7/10 with potential for a 10/10

It’s not Anomaly and its not GAMMA either.Go in with that in mind and what you will find is an immersive game set in the STALKER universe. There’s glaring issues of course. If you’re unsure give it a year(or two) and come back. By then patches and mods will be readily available. I believe this game will become a staple for immersive survival games. The groundwork is laid.

man, this game is so much fun. we have RAGDOLL and if that's not your speed WE HAVE MORE RAGDOLL. Whoever cooked up the idea for the Impaler is a psychopath. I thought the chargers were bad with their ability to Tokyo Drift like a stripper on a stripper pole but damn. This is a new level of just stupid. If an Impaler spawns 9.8 Miles from your location it will Ragdoll you to death. Yeah the nerfs are annoying but not nearly as bad as being ragdolled to death. To add more insult to injury the game just seems to pick and choose randomly when it wants to crash. You've been playing for months without incident? Nothing change? Lemme fix that. CRASH CRASH CRASH. idk man. I feel like Helldiving into a pile of broken glass covered in lemon juice.

I want to like this game but it'll take way to long to get a good understanding of the mechanics. Do yourself a favor and pick up any Civ titles and you'll have a more enjoyable time. If you feel like you can sit down for 30+ hours to learn the mechanics then by all means.

terrible devs

It's a fun game, recommend it on sale. I hesitate to give it a positive review because of the AI. As of right now(12/17/24) the enemy AI is fairly decent. Pretty mild but can still put up an expecting challenge. I do think the friendly AI needs an overhaul as I have had them, more now than ever, get in my way and get me killed multiple times. This problem only really exists in tight spaces like VOD.
