Games good, optimisation is trash. Does that mean it should be review bombed? No, grow up you soyboys.

Game needs way WAY more time in the oven. At the moment it's barely playable and the map is not doable with 3 players remaining. Refunded for now.

Edit - This is the greatest sequel to any game ever. My expectations have been absolutely destroyed, my hype and excitement for the future of this game is out of this world. I am wholeheartedly recommending this to any single person who loves Warhammer 40k. You will be surprised at what you experience. Is it perfect? Of course not. Is it a flawed masterpiece? Yes, it totally is.

If you are not a Warhammer fan, I can't speak for you, but I can tell you that this is the perfect gateway drug into the franchise.

Playing with friends is highly recommended. For the Emperor, brothers.

Apart from the game hanging for around 45 seconds if you alt-tab, best warhammer 40k game I have ever played.

Imagine buying into a franchise that is all about difficulty and pain, just to complain that the game is too easy, for the developers to double down on difficulty to appease the crowd, for that crowd to then cry about the difficulty.

Git, gud, scrubs.

Game is 10/10, just give us the vehicles and illuminates from Helldivers 1 and I will be in bliss.

Good fun. Now I'm gonna be the guy who gives this game a thumbs up, because despite what others are saying, the game is actually entertaining. Sure it's not a super skill based game like For Honor or Mordhau, but it's fun. Learn the timings and frame data of characters and I assure you the game feels a lot better to play. The combat takes some getting used to for sure, but once you hit that sweet spot after about 8 hours, it feels good.

My main issue comes from the cosmetic progression side of things and monetisation.

Okay so for each character you can grind out 1 skin each and 1 weapon each and a reskin for them. That's it? That's all the free stuff we get? Like I understand that you people need to earn money to continue the game, but this isn't it guys.

Like what sick developer/publisher is responsible for separating armour skins and weapon skins? Charging £14 for a weapon and £14 for the matching armour? Which means £28 for a complete skin? Even Conquerors Blade EU publishers aren't that greedy!

I have loved every Total War game that has released, but CA, what you're doing to our beloved Warhammer series is utterly barbaric. To the guy who basically made these disgusting decisions to exploit and THREATEN US, the playerbase? Get fired, you absolute rat of a human.

CA, fire this guy, he borderline alienated and threatened your entire audience.

Edit - Based on evidence of how they are proceeding with the Nurgle DLC, I will be changing this review to positive provided it is good. I despise the fact I had to hate on this game, even though I love the entire series more than anything.

Edit 2 - Game is in a good state. The new DLC proves that the Dev's definitely still have the talent in them, good job guys, nice redemption arc.

I sincerely wish there was a "Meh" button instead of yes and no. But for now I will say yes, because I like where the game is heading, but not where it's at.
I love the concept and the design, but the execution needs some hefty work.
If I had the spare cash to throw at this as a "Support devs now, play later" game, then I'd have not refunded it. Unfortunately, that's not the case for me financially.

The things stopping me from not considering this a play later game?
*Performance on a high-end machine during the defense stage is pretty bad.
*Laggy hitmarkers that do not feel correct?
*Lack of weapons (Most weapons are just variations of the morita?)
*Only 1 map and several objective types on the only game mode I played
*2 Game modes, 1 of which gets stale quick because of zerg mentality and 0 comms. The 2nd whilst I didn't play it due to time gate, looked significantly more fun.
*Squads are nonsensical and do not matter currently.
*As much as I appreciate the diversity, I'd rather have character customisation asap.
*The game just ends and you have to requeue from the start. Why can't I stick with a lobby that I vibe with?
*Screenshake makes me want to punch my monitor.
