I finally got to playing this game after 3 years of hearing nothing but praise. I (somehow) managed to avoid knowing almost anything about the game, mostly because everyone who recommended it refused to tell me much of anything about it. I am obsessed with anything and everything related to space though, so I finally got around to trying it on a Sunday whenever I didn't have much else to play.

Now having beaten the game, I can say this is by far the most memorable, most heartfelt, game I have ever played. There is no other game that puts the player in the drivers seat like this, because unlike other games where progression is driven by items collected, upgrades obtained, bosses killed, or missions completed, the only thing driving forward progression in this game is the knowledge you have obtained. This game is truly a one-of-a-kind experience, and the only downside is, due to the nature of the game, you can only truly experience it once.

I was filled with so much curiosity for this solar system that I combed through and filled every entry of the ship log before finally piecing the puzzle together and finding the path to the ending. And by the time the credits rolled, the game actually brought me to tears with the emotions I was left with. And only now have I found that there are hidden ship logs and lore that I haven't even found, so there is still yet more to explore in this game.

This game is truly a masterpiece, and the individual experience inherit to the structure of the game makes it one of the most powerful pieces of art I have seen across any media.
