It's been 10 years since I had this steam account and not going to lie I've enjoyed every last second of Team Fortress 2 (TF2.) This game taught more about social interactions then real life, also living in the suburbs sucks growing up since there is nothing to do and talking to someone my age is a rarity outside of school. Initially I've thought this game was a pay to play and not free to play because of most marketing I've seen where orange box related so I've played Gotham City Impostors first (If anyone remembers that game.) What really got me into the game was a video called "Team fabulous 2" by Kitty0706 and that video even tho I've new it was made in garry's mod, it leaves an impression on me that there is more to the game that I'm missing. The since of community and mods is something I will never forget. I can think of countless stories of me just fu*king around in a server until the "Lol XD Funny" happens like yesterday in a freak fortress 2 server, I've tried to face a boss named the "Skeleton King" as a demoknight (a subclass of the demoman that focuses mostly on melee) shouting "It would be just like starwars." However, I instantly got my head decapitated as soon as the fight starts, this is something you don't see in most other multiplayer games. There are other times where I've got to experienced multiple of scams I was not previously aware of and also thought me to use critical thinking to not fall for scams like it again. The point to all of this is that my experiences with the game are far from forgettable both good and bad.

Sadly, this game do have a lot of its own faults as of free to play players can't communicate by text and voice chat because of valve trying to combat the spam of bots affecting chat which was futile as bots are pay to play "players." The other problem is that the last major update which is the jungle inferno update was 2017 and that's 6 years ago at the time of this review is written. Lastly, the MVM side community is a toxic cesspool and the only community that I can think of b!tching about a weapon that makes the gamemode too easy. I didn't play much during the gasspasser MVM drama but seeing it going down though youtubers and some steam blogs talking about it to the point that there is a website the hunts gasspasser users down then tags them is fu*king cringe. This is the same gamemode where you can earn rewards like australiums as they are just this game's version gold weapons and bot killers which can count your kills similar to strange weapons you can get from crates.

Despite the negative's I've listed so far (and there is probably is more like the bot crisis itself which I've only touched on with the F2P communication issue) the game is still going strong with a healthy amount of players (as far as I know and hopefully not being replaced by bots) and community servers are still a god's gift to this world. I myself tried quitting TF2 for a long time even to the point of giving my sh!t away but mann, it's fu*king hard quitting TF2 when so much memories, sense of community, and just plain fun pact within this game. I'd just missed what TF2 used to be back in the day before the "Meet Your Match" update and today this game is just a shell of its former self but even at the state the game is today its still fun to play and if you ended up not liking it, its understandable as to why as at this point it may not be for everyone.

TL;DR

TF2 is a fun game despite all of its flaws but one thing I can say to any newcomers to this game is "Enjoy what's left of this game and stick to community servers."
