This game is roguelite distilled to it's pure essence - and that's a good thing. Get a little stronger with every run, discover some new combination and if you're tired with that it seems there's a whole 'nother realm of possibilities. It is incredible fun and will keep you going on just one more run. Excellent, excellent game.

I went in not really expecting much, but it's actually really nice. Got some Mirror's Edge parcour stuff in it but with classic gunplay. The game does a good job of making you feel badass. It's nothing earth shattering, but if you like a parcour FPS, give this one a shot.

It's not often that a game can really grab me like in the old days. This one immediately did. I played the entire first scenario (which was the 10 hours - including two breaks where the game was running while I was eating) in one go.

You can clearly see they did a ♥♥♥♥ ton of gameplay testing, because the challenge is perfectly balanced. Every time you overcome a challenge, something now is thrown on you path and immediately you want to tackle that.
There's moment where you feel more in control, there's moment where you feel you're trying to keep 6 plates spinning on a stick at the same time.

Love it!

Not sure how much replay-ability it's gonna have for me, but given how low the price is by now and given how much I enjoyed this first scenario .. it's worth to get it if you haven't played it just for that.

Had a rough start for me but grew as I played it more.

They did a lot of things right: the combat is good for instance. Not too complex but feels like how a wizard fight would go down. I like that they set it in the time before HP. They still manage to do some fan service but it's cool that you can be your own character. Everything looks good as well.

The problem I have is two fold: one, it doesn't bring up that boarding school vibe that I liked so much in the books. It doesn't feel like you're a student at all, more like a visitor who drops in from time to time. At the same time, it also doesn't feel like a grand adventure. It kinda falls in between the two chairs.

Secondly, I hate the quest structure. Especially early on the quest log is riddled with 'collect x this, collect y that' quests. The map is filled with icons where you can do activities. Just like in just about any UBISOFT game it feels lazy. I don't mind those things being there, but I need a strong fleshed out main quest with fleshed out side quests, not a basic main quest with JUST activities. After a while it gets better, but if you compare this to other rpg's like Skyrim or BG3 .. ooph.

Al in all, decided to change my recommendation to a yes, because I do enjoy playing and I'll finish it ... but I still feel it could've been a lot more.

Wow only 17 hours? Feels like a lot more!

This game definitely has some Subnautica vibes, and that's a very good thing. It's nowhere near as refined as Subnautica (yet), but it absolutely scratches that same itch. If you like Satisfactory as well, that's even better because it has a lot of that too. Maybe even sprinkle in a little bit of Forager on top.

So, not as refined as Subnautica or Satisfactory, but if you love those you should ABSOLUTELY get this one as well.

Edit: pretty much finished with the game now at 34 hours. The original assessment held. I hope they don't add too much stuff now, but refine what's already there. Very much worth your time.

Cheaters are still a big, big problem.

They pretty much did everything else right, or it's looking like they will.

FINALLY a classic RPG that can stand next to Kotor1 and Dragon Age 1. Love it.

Great story (so far), lots of content, you can really do as you like. Good combat as well and it looks very very very good.
