This game is so super funny and so well designed, I love playing it and that's really all I can say, this is a great game and i'll give this game an 8,7/10 because I still want more possibilities around and in the game :)

That's what I wrote on August 3rd 2015, well over 8 years ago. I was 15 years old back then and had 37 hours in the game. Now, I am 24 years old, and hundreds of hours later, I feel like I should edit my review. And I don't even want to. Because this game means a lot to me.

When Epic Games took over in 2019, things went south pretty quickly. There were server issues, which have never been fixed. Rocket League disappeared from Steam, and went free to play, which caused a problem with smurfs. They never did anything about that either. They have been changing Rocket League, and not in a good way. They only care about one thing: money.

Tomorrow, they will officially be removing player-to-player item-trading. A feature that has been in this game for as long as I can remember. A feature that was loved by many people. A feature I used pretty often. A feature my friends used pretty often. And above all, a feature that has it's own community attached to it.

Epic Games are killing the game I love. They are killing the community I love. And they do not care a single bit. Immediately after this announcement, the community went berserk, and with good reason. They have not been recognizing this, and ignoring all comments regarding this absolutely bizarre decision.

It's actually outrageous. When I read about this change, a tear left my eye. Because I knew this was going to be the end of an era. I knew this was going to be the end of some players that have been there since the beginning, players like myself. Players who still love this game, but who are done with the horrible changes Epic Games have been shoving down our throats.

I am weak. I will continue playing the game because it's quite a large part of my last 10 years. But I want to make clear why I changed my review from positive to negative, 8 years after I wrote it. And that is because Epic Games did the one thing I did not imagine possible:

Kill Rocket League.

Thanks for reading, and have a wonderful day.
