The concept is really cool and I like playing as the various characters but Jesus ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Christ this is one of the WORST modern era fighting games I have ever played. Where do I even start?

The controls
The controls in this game are very, very simple. Nothing wrong with that in and of itself, I actually prefer it to having to memorize inputs to do specific attacks, but dear lord this game is just baby mode supreme. There's just not a whole lot you can really do to get fancy with it like you could in a game like smash, which also has very simple controls but has a lot you can do with them. Once you've played for about an hour you've already hit the skill ceiling, which leads into the next problem

The A.I
The A.I are so, SO dumb and spammy. They are not playing the same game as you. They spend 90% of the game just blocking, hoping to bait you into going for a grab. Don't fall for it, because if you do, you've probably just lost half your health bar unless you pull of a perfect block or combo break them. If you walk away from them they wont engage you at all. I'm not really sure why they do this because about 10% of the time attacks just wont connect on them anyway. I don't mean that they abuse super armor to tank a few hits I mean that your initial attack in a combo will pass right through them so they can get a punish. This tends to happen more and more often when you're wiping the floor with them, which is pretty easy because they're braindead. But it doesn't stop there. Before a round starts you have a few seconds where you can move around but not attack. This doesn't apply to the A.I, and they will occasionally start attacking before the round even starts. Not only all this, but the A.I does WAY more damage per attack than you on story missions, so if you ♥♥♥♥ up your timing for anything you WILL lose over half your health in some situations, while that exact same attack from you will take maybe about a quarter of his. There is nothing I hate in a game more than a developer who gives his game's A.I an advantage over the player because they're to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lazy to just make an A.I that actually just uses the tools the game has built in to be a challenge.

Other Minor Gripes
Jotaro's character is off, he's kind of a ♥♥♥♥♥ in this. A lot of the other characters are off to but he especially stands out.
If you chose a sword character as your avatar you don't really get a sword, you kind of just materialize it when attacking. Not an issue in and of itself but I bought a sword cosmetic thinking my character would use the sword on his back instead and no, he just leaves on his back and continues materializing a different sword out of thin air. Not a huge deal but kind of a let down.
The Cosmetics for your character in the game are kind of disappointing all together.
The HUB area where you spend your time between battles is far to large and empty and your character is pretty slow and has no way to fast travel. This wouldn't be an issue except certain items are only sold at certain shops and characters around the map will have special missions for you sometimes.

All in all if you're a huge fan of anime or manga it's worth getting on sale but if you just want a fighting game to play I would look elsewhere. The devs built a barbones fighting system and relied on the characters in the game to sell it rather than actually making anything good, then they spent the rest of the games budget on coke and hookers. All this being said however, very few things bring a smile to my face quite like watching Jotaro or Kenshiro beat the absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out of Yugi or Boruto's dad's son.

Is the game good?
Yes, the game itself is amazing and I have a ton of fun driving around mexico and the driving physics are very fun and the cars are amazing.
Why don't I recommend it then?
Because this game has some seriously glaring issues that are not acceptable for a game of this level of production value.

For starters, the game crashes. A lot. Like a lot a lot. These mostly occur when you are trying to customize a car and you scroll to fast through the options. This is very frustrating.
Secondly, the online boots you out every 5 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minutes. I mean literally every 5 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minutes. It's not my connection, I know it's not.
Thirdly, the physics objects in the game can be really, really glitchy. I can't count how many times i've been driving at 150 MPH+ and came to a dead stop instantly when I hit a breakable physics object. While In my opinion the physics objects are usually a little to light and sometimes hilarious, I can forgive it because this is an arcade racer and plowing through 50 cacti or trees with little to no slowdown can be a blast. But when I come to a dead stop and ruin my skill chain because 1 of those cacti decided it wasn't going to play nice this kills all my momentum, both figuratively and literally.

Nice game, hope they fix these issues, but I would not pay full price for this and support the trend of big gaming companies releasing unfinished games at a full price tag.

UPDATE

They updated the game, and now it's even worse somehow. Elements of the HUD go missing, textures are missing in several places. SMFH horizon team, what the hell are you doing?

The game is good but god help you if you want to use custom music.
I should not have to jump through all these hoops to make this game not crash using a feature that's supposed to be built in.

"If it doesn't work, don't fix it" -Refract
Game is majorly bugged for many people, menu issues, tracks don't load properly resulting in empty levels with checkpoints floating mid air. Shame really, I loved this game back when it actually ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ worked.

Absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbage. I got this bundled with Phantom Pain and I still feel ripped off. Not only is this peice of ♥♥♥♥ that Kojima squatted out shorter than my ♥♥♥♥, It's about as bug ridden and frustrating to work with as it too. The controls are sticky, and the NPCs have a habit of not seeing you when you stand in front of them but will spot you halfway across the map (of which there is only one).
Want to watch the final cutscene in the game? You better have a top-of-the-line rig or get ready to watch a cutscene at 2 frames a minute. No I'm not exargerating, I litterally got 2 frames in one minute, it took almost an HOUR just to bring up the option to SKIP the cutscene. The rest of the game runs just fine but some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ made the call to put this scene in ULTRA HD with NO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ OPTION TO LOWER THAT ♥♥♥♥.
Do not buy this. Just get Phantom Pain. This will bring you nothing but pain and frustration.

Don't buy this game, just get DC instead.

The sisters of battle, Dark Eldar, and flying units arn't worth the broken ass mechanics and retarded A.I.

Why do I say Broken? Because what the devs did is instead of making a more intelligent A.I is they punished the player. That is a big no-no. NEVER gimp the player just to make your game harder.

Remember how in DC when you took land all the buildings you built would stay there, that way in case you got invaded they were there and ready? Kiss that goodbye. Now, once you take the land all your buildings are deleted. Why? Don't ask me, but it makes defensive battle exactly the same as offensive battles. But thats not all. Not ONLY are your bases whisked away as if they have other places to be after the battle, causing you to start every game from scratch, but the computer can START with 2 bases when THEY are attacking YOU! For what reason? Because the devs were to lazy to make a compitent system so they punish the player for playing the game.

It becomes incredibly frustrating when you have JUST taken control of a place, only to have the computer counter-attack forcing you into the exact same battle exept worse because now the enemy will be constantly assulting you with endgame units before the clock hits 1 minute you preventing you from building your base up. This makes it very easy to become locked in place and unable to progress any further in your campaign

One good part of this game is the strongholds. Every stronghold is sufficiantly unique and somewhat challenging, though some are rather annoying, like the eldar's hold. However these are also where the games storytelling comes in and it's absolute crap. For instance, when you take the Ork stronghold it tells you that Gorgutz "somehow" escapes. Somehow? SOMEHOW? Come on man give me some details! Did he have his mecboyz make him a makeshift spacecraft and call in the flash Gitz to pick him up? Did he disapear into the warp? Another exapmle is the necron intro. "Nobody knows why the necrons awoke," What? Nobody knows? It seems like the Eldar know why they're there but according to the writers "nobody knows?" Who the hell wrote this stuff?

Aside from what I've wrote there are some odd audio glitches but other than that it's a pretty standard warhammer 40k game. If you have to make a choice between this and Dark Crusaide, get DC. It's better and more fair in every possable way.

Early Access Review
The 80 hrs I have doesn't count the time I did on my old email account, before they did steam IDs.
This game was very good at one point and rewarded people for long-term play, then they added things like new weapons, spider legs, airplane wings and all kinds of other cool stuff, and the game looked like it was going to go places.
But the devs just kept ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up.
Removing the unlock currency, changing the way matchmaking worked, and eventually just removing the tech tree and armor levels compleatly were all horrable ideas and i don't know who asked for those changes.

The game is very dumbed down from what it used to be.

I once did not recommend this game but the bugs have been largly patched out and I'm happy to recommend it now.

It's a game where you get to incarirate people for fun. Badass prisoners show up and reck your gaurds, kill your warden and shut down your prison you worked on for the last 10 hours straight, then you cry and start over.

If your thinking about getting this game and catching up a bit before GTA V comes out for PC, do yourself a favor and just don't. Or better yet, whip out that old Xbox 360 thats collecting dust and play it on that.

GTA IV is a great game that I had a lot of fun playing on counsle, but the port makes rockstar look like they didn't even try. reducing my draw distance and Setting my graphics to to medium (because the low setting is just... so bad), the game was still terribly laggy, and while my machine isn't a top of the line rig, It's definetly not a dinosaur.

Then you have The Xbox Live intergration, wich if you don't have an account or don't remember your old one can take half an hour just so you can save the game.
