The Vanilla game is entertaining for a bit but the real fun begins when you realize this game is basically abandon-ware that's become a sandbox for modders. Tons of community members putting in God's work to make this game into what it should have been. All made better in co-op.

The gameplay is fun but completely ruined by the "card" system. Every aspect of gameplay is nerfed to justify the existence a corresponding card that buffs that aspect of gameplay to a playable level. It takes forever to switch weapons because there's a card for that. Reloads are painfully slow by default, because there's a card for that. Lose because you ran out of ammo? Guess you should've drawn that card from your deck.

Then there are cards that buff the enemies in completely random ways, meaning that you can get thrown an impossible situation and lose purely because of RNG.

They HAD a good zombie shooter and then ruined it by shoehorning in a gimmick that effects every aspect of the game.

Nothing but power creep every update to give the toxic community more ways to ruin the fun.
