Usually Paradox does a really good job in regards to Stellaris DLC to the point that I usually pre-order them or purchase them as soon as they're out as I've never had problems in the past with their DLC. However this one just misses the mark in a lot of ways. The vassal system added in the update that came along with this DLC is just broken in so many different ways. From monthly loyalty gain being shown as two different values in two different places to not being able to make changes to vassal contracts as they often have a large opinion malice to making certain changes and there is nothing you can do about it. Nothing you can do to force it as the powerful overlord or no deals that can be made to make that malice a little less. I also noticed when creating a vassal from a sector it pops up the window for negotiating their agreement, which I assumed was for setting up how I wanted this new vassal to be. This was not the case though as it seemed to be immediately locked and the timer for renegotiating was already active, not letting me pick if they were a specialized vassal or not. However I know some say that these aren't a part of the DLC and that they are from the free update, so therefore the DLC is fine. I disagree with this as because of the opinion malice mentioned before it is basically impossible to use the specialized vassal types that come from this DLC, as they will never accept. Overall this DLC and free update feel rushed and not finished. With this many bugs and issues I would reccomend waiting until they fix these problems before getting it. Unless the not vassal related stuff in the DLC interests you, such as the new origins, new mega structures, and new enclaves. As so far they all seem pretty good.
