pros-
beautiful architect & design
non-linear/semi open world
music is decent
the parkour & exploration is unmatched from any other game
the feeling of being alone but not, always arriving but always leaving, this game makes you feel a certain type of way; like thinking about breathing within a dream

cons-
momentum WASD movement (literally a brainless move for this genre)
parkour is ROUGH because of momentum (sprinting into a jump just to clear 2ft before dropping like a rock)
the movement is the biggest fight in the game
walk speed & sprint speed isn't distinguishable unless you're running in a straight line
FOV way too low + no FOV options
Audio is extremely loud + no audio settings
breathing mechanic is every 1.4 seconds (clicking simulator)
MASSIVE scanlines going up your screen any time you move in the game
there's an infinite staircase that soft locks you
some of the puzzles are completely random & without direction or relevance and come off as just tedious padding to add to player's time in game.

conclusion-
this game balances on the fence of an upvote & downvote because of it's mechanics being the hardest part of the game and make the overall experience more annoying than enjoyable, however the exploration & price (free) keep it afloat. Hope fixes come to the game, definitely would be one of my favorite games of all time if the mechanics & settings weren't a constant fight.

Purchased this game after seeing a couple very entertaining YouTube videos on it.
Unfortunately playing it solo just isn't very fun. While the difficulty is pretty high (plus points for that) and manageable, most of the time you're forced to just lose, such as a boss being spawned right outside the very first door on the very first stage.
You can't just browse servers and find people to play with, all lobbies are private, and once in a blue moon, a public one will pop up however you can't join it because your 'save file isn't compatible'... what? All progress aside from you overall level and ability to 'research' found items resets.
Character variety/weapons are diverse and makes for a lot of fun with different play styles.
But overall I can't recommend the purchase unless you plan to buy it with other people, as playing it solo is level 1-4 rinse & repeat at best.
It's a fun game with no doubt, but the small things make a large impact and the gameplay is way too repetitive for solo play due to random forced deaths resulting in a rinse/repeat for x-floors and without the ability to join public lobbies makes this not worth the purchase at the end of the day. However the game has been consistently updated for years and these things could change in the future.

tldr; Co-op game with only private lobbies makes it single player extremely repetitive & unfun solo gameplay, but gameplay in general really fun & diverse combat/weapons, hope to see the save file thing change, would make game instant 5/5

This game was simply amazing! While linear, it let's you explore enough to let you think you can do what you want. I learned towards the end that the decisions you make DO impact the story/ending, and I can't wait to try for an alternative ending. This was definitely a nonstop insanely, genuinely fun yet horrifying experience.
As a side note, the graphics & lighting is AMAZING, however just a bit unoptimized due to having some very low FPS during certain cutscenes or when I hit a big trigger for an event on a 6600XT. But this was only noticeable maybe 4 times throughout the game, no no points against them on that. Definitely something I'd recommend to friends to play.

Assassin's Creed fanboys are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. "ItS hArD tO GeT aRoUnd" It's literally not. They're just salty they can't ride Phobos straight into enemy bases and have to actually sneak/walk in. I've never had a single problem with traversing in this DLC. You guys just lack motor skills & critical thinking. Zero brain activity from these reviews, seriously. Learn how to enjoy something.
As for the story/quests, each quest feels hand-made and completely different every time. The terrain also helps with this feeling. People saying it's pointless, or confusing, need to learn how to read or pay attention. These are the people that ask the teacher to read out loud in class, but can't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ read.

Story: Fun and immersive
Area design: Literally better than the base game, smaller, but way more detail and effort was put in by the devs, and it looks insane

Conclusion: This DLC is worth $40 on it's own, and the negative reviews are AS fanboys that can't read and have no inner dialog in their head.

Not even 2 hours into the game did I decide that this was one of my favorite games of all time. Now over 130 hours in, with zero plans of stopping for even another 100 hours, it's got a permanent position in my Top 3 favorite games of all time.
Being a massive Greek Mythology fan, this game called to me when I found out about it. But once I got in the game, everything looked so unreal. Even going into 2022, this game looks far better in both quality & graphics, compared to most triple-a games released in 2021. You would think RTX is integrated, but without the hardware requirement to utilize it.
The story? Well don't expect to beat the main stories (yes, there's technically 2) in under 130 hours unless you're super dedicated and more than likely, not taking in the scenery, or enjoying the side quests.
The Atlantis DLC for this game was MIND-BLOWING. It has mixed reviews because people are mad they can't just use Phobos (your mount) to get everywhere, and have to actually climb and maneuver places (which they did an INSANE job at, more so than the base game).
The music has been stuck in my head for well over 8 months, and still love it, the Story is super interesting and immersive as hell.
The ONLY negative I have for this game, is the cutscenes. Every character in the game in every cutscene, does this weird, EXTREMELY exaggerated movement when they speak, but their voices are calm and don't match what's happening in game, and vise versa, whereas they'll have no movements but be yelling and excited verbally. It's very awkward and off-putting, from start to finish, and it's impossible to ignore or overlook. Extremely immersion breaking, but hey, there's no such thing as 'perfect', and if that wasn't an issue, this game would be just that.
If you want a game you KNOW you'll get play time out of for your money, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is this it. Taking a date out to the movies, with popcorn and drinks cost more than this game, and that's only 90 minutes of entertainment. This game is forever. Become an Assassin, leave the girls behind.

As someone that's played Runescape for 17 Years, New World is by far one of my favorite games out there now. 100% a WoW & FFXIV killer, and I played both a lot!
Feels like I'm playing Runescape for the first time again. So much nostalgia, fun, and meeting people thru voice chat in an MMORPG creates some of the funniest and most memorable experiences ever. Putting 10+ hrs daily into this game and I've never had more fun and been happier playing games.
100% if you like MMORPG's please get it! Also NO monthly subscription fee!
Trust me, it's super hard for me to get into new MMORPG's, but this one had me instantly, and didn't see anything about the game until I played it. Mind blown. I love it. Try it out.

Early Access Review
I purchased this game close to midnight on a Friday. By the following Monday morning, I already had 43 hours in the game. That's an average of 13 hours per day I put into the game since the moment I bought it. On work days I put in 7+ hours daily.
This game is a grind fest, and it will have you really using your brain to figure things out. If you want log-term gameplay, a plethora of milestones and goals to achieve, and a visually outstanding game, this is definitely the one for you.
This game has so much to do, sometimes feeling overwhelming (in a good way), with so much learning with every Tier you unlock, you will always have something completely new to do.
Best game I've purchased in years to say the least.
