Early Access Review
I haven't played a ton of Fields of Mistria yet, and I know it's in Early Access still, but this is by far the best farming sim I've played. Hands down.

It's relaxing, there's a lot to do, and everything is just finely tuned. Didn't bring the iron ore with you into town to smelt? No problem! You can craft anything from any storage anywhere - even if it's screens away, stuck in a chest in your house! Found a rare insect but your inventory is full, and the day is about to end? Have to let the day roll over, and save because you stayed up too late playing the game? No problem! Catch it anyways, it'll drop to the ground and stay there, ready to pick up in-game days, and multiple saves, later!

Combat is a joy, you actually have to think about how the enemies will react. Reminds me so much of playing SNES action-rpgs - some enemies jump towards you, others you have to face away from before they become vulnerable, while others are damaged the most by you reflecting their attacks back at them.

Just unlocked a new cosmetic? You don't have to carry it around, it's available at all times, in all possible colors, in your cosmetics menu.

By far the very best farming sim I've ever played - the graphics are adorable, it plays well on the Steam Deck as well as with keyboard/mouse, and everything just clicks. Very highly recommended. easily the most polished early access game I've played, with a ton of content.

Enter the Gungeon continues to prove that I can get better at games, while also failing miserably at games.

The action ramps up, as does the difficulty curve, perfectly as you play. Even though it's a roguelike and has random drops, I totally recommend this game for anyone that just wants to have fun and enjoy shooting guns whose bullets are guns that shoot bullets at bullets, shells, and other gun-related enemies.

The premise of some of the items and synergies you can get are usually references to other series - a charge gun that can switch attack modes if you get the right other guns, a propane tank that fires sharks but if you have another gun the sharks explode, etc.

This game is as hilarious as it is hard. One moment you are running around as some dude, shooting holes through enemies, and then you die. Oh wait, you just unlocked a new character! Now you are running around poisoning enemies. Oops, you died there too. Wait, now you're some kind of robo-chef throwing knives and cooking your enemies? What happened to the original guy? Oh, he's still there, but you just found a feather and can jump another time. Go you!
