I really like the game so far, but there's some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you need to keep in mind. First of all: yes, you can play for free. However, if you care about being on the leaderboards, you’ll need to spend some cash.

There’s a gacha system that gives you passive pets, these boost XP gain, damage, survivability, and even loot drops (especially useful when running maps postcampaign). To upgrade these pets and unlock more boons, you need duplicate copies, the classic gacha grind.

There are multiple banners with different currencies, so yeah, it's the usual psychological manipulation. If you're susceptible to gambling, seriously, stay away. That said, you do get free pulls through gameplay and achievements, so it’s not all doom and gloom.

There’s also a season pass for new Heroes (your playable characters). You can play them immediately if you buy the pass. There’s a free track too, but you get the gist.

Gameplay is fast, fun, and satisfying. Performance has been great, no crashes or issues on my end. The art style is cute: think furry-anime Diablo (and honestly, the genre needs more of this). Sound design is solid, nothing mind-blowing, but it does the job.

The story? Some would call it cringe, it’s the usual anime stuff, but I found it cute and enjoyable. The Campaign is short, which is great if you’re a casual player, but it also means you’ll hit endgame fast. That’s both good and bad, because endgame = repetition.

Seasons try to shake things up with new mechanics, which is cool, but they’re not well explained in-game. I hate when games rely on massive text dumps or outside guides to teach you basic stuff. Fortunately, there are built-in loot filters and one-click Hero builds that highlight exactly which passives to take, so you’re not left guessing.

Anyway, I like the game. I’m playing for free, and besides the cash heavy leaderboard stuff (the gacha stuff), I don’t really have major complaints. If you’re after a casual ARPG with anime flair, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Have fun!
