I'm new to the series, started playing about a month ago. Already binged games from 0 to 2 and I can definitely say I've had the least amount of fun with this entry. (I played on hardcore from the get-go so my experience might be different to anyone playing on a different difficulty setting.)

The enemies and their lay outs are tedious. While in almost every RE game resource management is a vital, and weirdly fun, part of the game where you get to decide what to spend where, I haven't really got that feeling in RE 3. The enemies were seemingly placed randomly without real care put into it (with few exceptions). Instead of giving me an obstacle which I should deliberate upon and consider my options in a span of a few moments, I was given a hindrance which only slowed my progress.

The levels were all very short. It isn't a problem in the late game as usually RE games tend to pick up the pace near the end. Still, I barely had any time to get accustomed to any areas of the game, making it feel like I was speedrunning through everything.

As for the famous Nemesis, I read a comment somewhere that read something along the lines of 'Mr.X in RE2 felt more like Nemesis than the actual Nemesis.' which is very true. In RE3 Remake, Nemesis, with the exception of his second appearance if I recall correctly, every time he appears it's a cutscene or a sequence. Because of that he never truly felt like a threatening entity that hunted Jill wherever she went, never posed much of a threat or fear.

I bought this in a bundle with RE2 pretty cheap so I don't really regret buying it. Would I recommend buying it however? No. Would I say to never buy this though? Not exactly either. I'd say that if you can get it for a really low price and you're a fan of the franchise. Sure, get it. I'd just say to not get your expectations too high as the game won't live up to them.

In conclusion, RE3 Remake is a mediocre experience that feels more like a 4-6 hour demo of a game that somehow manages to conclude it's story in that span.

You do have to download a patch to play without any problems but it takes like 5 minutes or so.

Best Elder Scrolls Game
the only down side is that quests don't have quest marks but overall it's great
