I'm not a rogue-like/lite kinda guy, but it is fun to see how much progress has been made to the skill system, new classes and weapons over time. I think it started very differently, but now there's multiple classes with unique skills and upgrades. Once you figure out the flow and find out what weapons "click" with your class, it gets pretty fun.

Redout 2 is VERY FAST, but misunderstood.


How to "git gud": When boosting, don't stop when the ships overheats and depletes health. You can still keep going, but don't blow up the ship!

Visually, it's a lot more "realistic" than the first game. The soundtrack is not for me (I prefer Redout 1's music). The base game has 24(?) race tracks. From Mars, to a literal BLACK HOLE.
There are 5 new ships, and all 12 ships have their own good/bad base stats. You also have components: Some increase top speed, others increase handling or boost power. Saving this into a "loadout", you can build the perfect ship for every situation!

Racing has a lot more "grip" than in Redout 1 but this also depends on the race track. Unlike the first game, you must rotate and pitch your ship in jumps (Though in both games, you can't play properly with JUST steering alone!). It can be very overwhelming at first, because of how much controls you get. This game takes away powerups, but gives you a turbo and a rechargable super boost. You can overheat from boosting, which then burns down health.


The career mode lasted a bit too long for me. The gradual progression of stats DOES help you get used to the tracks and the increasingly high speeds as you play. However, there are so many items to unlock through >100 career missions that it can feel sluggish for some players.

When this game came out, there was a BIG issue with the difficulty being too high and the Thrust stat being broken Luckily, the game's overall difficulty and some jumps are now easier. Thrust is working, too!
If you're struggling with Speed events, hopefully this helps:
The goal in RO2 speed events is to get as much score as possible in 3 minutes. You need to boost a lot. Score increases exponentially (Example: 2 points a second on 800km/h becomes 6 a second on 1000km/h or 12 at 1200), so you'll want to go fast and stack both boosts.


Newcomers might find this game challenging. It has a high skill ceiling, with several layers to its controls. Because there are no powerups, making a mistake is very punishing. It's almost unavoidable that some players will be far ahead of you. Still, if you want a super fast modern antigrav racing experience where skill means victory, this is for you!

Scoop Kick is, as its description says, a small puzzle game inspired by the old classics. It has super cute pixel art visuals, some music that really got stuck in my head, and there are many levels to complete, with some bonus objectives. It's not too difficult. Perfect for a casual, enjoyable experience. If you want to go for true 100%, however, be prepared for a challenge that will need precise strategic play.
Tip: Kick those ice cream scoops into as many enemies as possible and into the same cone for massive points!

My first proper introduction to the Warhammer (40K) universe, and honestly a super cool way to get into it.
The game has a nicely written story (though taking creative liberties here and there), the music is atmospheric and the voice acting is nice! The great voice acting in the trailer is in the game too.
For an ARPG, the combat is average (missions tend to get repetitive), and there's well designed skill/crafting systems, but on the base difficulty there's pretty much no grinding or farming necessary. They work very well overall.

PvP is not my type of thing, but the option is there. It's unfortunate you have to make a seperate account on their website to play Online with others, but the process is quick and easy.

All in all it's been a very pleasant experience that also works well with 1 extra player. I've been thinking about replaying it to try one of the DLC characters. They're not a necessary DLC though, unless you like the Adeptus Mechanicus. :)

Playing through this casually will give you the same experience as being an employee at the company that created it

(For context, it's pretty difficult)
Good for speedruns. Bad localization in some side minigames. VERY GOOD chiptune music and really nice cutscenes!! Some co-op capabilities too! Worth a shot if you like a challenging platformer that isn't too long of a playthrough.

Note! I bought my Steam Controller used, so I wasn't the first owner!

Having owned one for almost a year, it's just about time I write a review for this controller.

I wasn't sure what exactly to write about for this review, but I tried my best.

TL:DR
The Steam Controller is a "jack of all trades, master of some" kind of controller, boasting a dozen features, massive customizability and excellent build quality. In specific games it is better than anything else, but in most games it's decent. Certainly worth a try if you're curious!

1: Features
This controller has differences when compared to your usual controller. Based off of the list below, I've written them down in short:
  • 2 Touchpads (one of them is a touchpad AND a d-pad)
  • Only one analog stick
  • An extra button to toggle the Steam overlay
  • Two extra buttons below the shoulder buttons, on the back
  • Gyro controls!
  • Almost complete customizability (except the steam logo button)

An interesting thing to note is that you can even customize some of the features that come with this controller. All of the customization for the controls is very in-depth;

2: Build Quality

This controller has such a nice feel to it, that I quickly got used to it! It's only a little heavier and than your usual controller, but that's a positive factor in my opinion. It is ergonomic enough to feel nice to hold.

The analog stick, buttons and touchpads are of a high quality, though it also has the two extra buttons in the back, as well as gyro controls! I don't like the glossy finish on the front, though.
It comes in a very neat box that includes a diagram of the controller on one of the cardboard covers.

3: Functionality
The Steam Controller serves it's purpose by being almost completely customizable, making it possible to be used in almost all of your games. Of course, this doesn't mean that it'll work well.

The standard configuration whenever you aren't in-game works well, since the right touchpad can control movement of the cursor, and pressing the second right shoulder button acts as the left mouse button.

As shown in the trailer, both touchpads can be used to type messages, after bringing up a keyboard. It takes a lot of practice and getting used to before you're able to type quickly. Furthermore, the left touchpad has the ability to be used as a scroll wheel. This hasn't worked well for me. Either I haven't figured out how it works, or it actually is bugged, but I find it difficult to scroll in the right direction.

The amount of customization this controller has is insane; you can set sensitivity, rotation, acceleration, trackball friction, haptics intensity, and invert the vertical axis, all for just one touchpad! You can even set "Mode Shifting", which basically allows you to make even more macro's while a specific button is being held! There's a bunch of possibilities.

4: Configuration

This is a follow up to the previous paragraph, but focuses more on customization of the controller.

The controller works in almost any game, even some off of Steam. It's downside being that you will need to spend time configuring it all to get optimal results. Some games recognize the touchpad as a mouse function, some think it is the right analog stick. Luckily, a lot of pre-set configurations already exist for many different games, so you don't have to do all of it yourself!

I have had multiple games where, after some configuration, the Steam controller was my prefference over anything else. One of the games being Earth Defense Force 4.1. I practically only use the Steam Controller for this game.

You can't always have the best experience, however. Even after some configuration, some games still play better with a normal controller, or a mouse and keyboard. Hence why I gave it the description of "Jack of all trades, master of some".


That's all I could write about for this controller. If you're willing to spend time configuring the buttoms, touchpad, etc, then you should get this controller. I am definitely happy that I purchased this, however. I might get another one when this one eventually breaks, which won't happen for a long while!

In the 22 hours that i have played this game, I was aiming for getting the achievements. I was not expecting anything after getting this game, let alone wasn't expecting for the game to be able to run at all on my computer. I went into this game blind, ignoring anyone's opinions and also not expecting to get any matches done. After hearing the story about how this game 'was killed' / how one person within the company was extremely toxic to any living being, I was thinking the worst.

Boy, was I wrong.

Note 1: This review was made after i haven't played this game in a while.

I will throw away all the negative parts that this game has first.
  • The controls need getting used to, especially in no-gravity zones.
  • The balancing overall in this game is not that great.
  • Optimization is okay, but the game itself is large in size.
  • Pretty much anyone who hasn't played this game will have a negative opinion about this game.
  • Most gamemodes aren't too unique.

Wall of text below.

LawBreakers, even as an idea, is a seriously underrated gem of a game. No other game utilizes gravity mechanics in a way as good as this one. Some characters work better or worse in a zero gravity environment. The fact that you have to look everywhere around you when in zero gravity, as well as how much of a new experience it brings to combat alone, is what's a special part about this game's main mechanic. Like one of the reviews says; "Normal rules don't apply" when you're in a zero gravity environment.

Most people find the tutorial bad, too short, not explaining how the game works. But LawBreakers, on top of a tutorial walkthrough (with voice acting), gives you many different sets of videos explaining it's mechanics. It even has videos explaining how each different type of class / gamemode works.

LawBreakers has a BEAUTIFUL assortment of customizations. Each character can be customized with:
  • Character skins
  • Weapon skins
  • Weapon stickers
  • Boot skins (Whenever you kill someone by kicking them away, which actually is an attack, the boot skin will show up on their screen.)

The skins looks incredible, especially on the weapons. You can preview all of these skins while not in a match, which is pretty useful if you're very curious. I have not got enough words to describe some weapon skins, they really do look great. In-Game is also a button to inspect your currently held weapon. A select few weapons have animated skins! Oh yes, there's also a 'profile picture' you can have in LawBreakers, with most of them also having tiny animations in them! (I managed to get my favorite, Deadlock, animated) A lot of the lore is in these profile picture's descriptions.

The sounds, music and voice acting in LawBreakers is top quality. The music is very well made and can easily be found online. It even has some tracks in it that were made by Mick Gordon (Who worked on the DOOM 2016 soundtrack)! Voice acting for a lot of characters can be quite fun. For example, Nash, which is one of two with the Juggernaut role, has a lot of dialogue reffering to old song and movie lines. Each character has a very distinct personality, basically.

LawBreakers has multiple gamemodes, but most of them are not too unique. There is Blitzball, however, which has you take a talking ball to the enemy goal before time runs out and you explode. Also a game mode similar to it's Turf War gamemode, where you have to be in a certain point of the map with your team to score points. Juggernaut can sometimes be especially useful with this, as one of his skills can be used to lock down a passage to this zone from the enemy.

The game has nine roles, and one character for each faction using this role:
  • Assassin, using blades, a hook and a plasma shotgun to defeat enemies in close combat.
  • Battle Medic, utilizing a grenade launcher and laser repeater to aid their allies, or themselves.
  • Enforcer, the general soldier, except souped up for gravity comabt. They use assault rifles and a 'shotgun' for their weapons.
  • Gunslinger, which uses a pistol (with 3d printed ammo!) and revolver to take enemies out with precise, critical shots.
  • Harrier, an experimental role. They float around with rocket boots, using a laser rifle to quickly down someone, while also being able to help allies.
  • Juggernaut, my favorite. These advanced automatons use high damage pump-action shotguns, with a blade attachment, to eviscerate anything close by while defending their spot.
  • Titan. Uses rocket launchers and a shock.. weapon. They're also a tank-like character.
  • Vanguard. This role can fly with a type of jet as well, using a hydra minigun to shred their enemies.
  • Wraith. This uses a semi-automatic pistol and a knife, charging head-on like an Assassin.

Each role has 3 skills, one of them being their "Ultimate skill". I don't need to explain this. There's a wiki, but also the tutorial videos, that explains this in-depth. Balance wise, this game can go in many, many different directions. You can have a very easy or very hard time defeating a specific role, depending on the enemy skill level, but also depending on who you play as. It's not completely balanced either way, as the Hydra on the Vanguard is very strong. The Wraith ult is also fairly terrifying, but hard to aim. Skilled Harrier players can be extremely scary with their ult, it's the strongest dps in the game, but turns you into a sitting duck.

Finally, what killed this game. According to some others, it's because of Cliff himself. This man was, like i said earlier, downright insulting anyone interesting in the game before it left beta, even to his fellow devs of this game. This massive negativity that he had caused most players to not buy the game, leading to it's extremely low playerbase for one part. I'm sorry for writing this insulting part, but it's true and must be known. Another part was the oversaturated market from hero shooters, but also the fact that Overwatch existed. Of course, this might seem like a stupid comparison, but it was released while that game was the most popular and "best" hero shooter.

Final words about LawBreakers. It is very underrated once you ignore the negative points and just try it out. We won't know what the future will bring for this game, but likely nothing, which is incredibly sad. I got as many achievements as I was able to, before not playing this game too much anymore. I loved this game's humor, the personalities, skins, gameplay, a lot of it. I'm sad to see it go now, but I won't forget about it for a while.

Note 2: Juggernaut is my favorite. Not just role-wise, but also personality wise and how these automatons were designed. I was apparently best playing as this role as well, and i loved doing that as well. Great skills, personalities, voice acting, everything. I love the Juggernauts.

Big maps filled with a horde of enemies, Millions of gun combinations and dark humor all fit into one large barrel o' fun.

I have gotten my hands on this game way back in 2012 and back then, i didn't know what i was doing at all, but after a long break without playing the game, to then buy it back on Steam, i don't regret getting back into it at all.

This game has it all if you're looking for a loot-and-shoot game. There's weapons ranging from simple repeater pistols, to rocket launchers and alien weaponry. They can shoot flames, shock or acid too! On top of that, there's a bunch of different shield types, grenade mods and class mods, which, along with each character's skill trees, allow for dozens of different character builds. For a game from 2009, this game looks very good for it's time in terms of graphics. If your computer isn't that great, you can always optimize it further than normal. If you plan to buy this, your best bet is getting the GOTY "Enhanced" version. The "Enhanced" edition brings new features, but also new bugs, like memory leaks. However, it's more ideal if you will only play through the game once or twice.

Compared to Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel, this game barely manages to burn me out. It has a near infinite endgame where you can farm for the perfect weapon parts for every single unique weapon for hundreds en hours (though it gets stale eventually). Also, this game has linear scaling. In comparison to x1.13 and x1.1 multiplicative scaling in Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel, it may be easier to balance, but if an enemy is a higher level than you, you will definitely notice it. Pearlescent rarity weapons -- The rarest vanilla gear you can get, and only obtainable in the Knoxx DLC -- are seriously satisfying to obtain, while in other games, they're much more common. Not much excitement in that at all.

Of course, that doesn't mean that this game is perfect. Unlike it's successor, the skill trees are very simple. They can be built in any way without majorly affecting gameplay. Gund and everything in gereral are also less "flashy" than the successors.
If you truly look into it, you will also realize that this game's story is lacking and feels rushed. The game has lore and story, but most of it is in text form in the mission descriptions you complete, which is why it seems so lacking. The original game's graphics are also dated, but ReShade does bring some life to that.

To bring this review further to a close, if you manage to reach the point where the game becomes boring, try some mods! There's Blitz, the custom playable Vault Hunter, The Arsenal, adding 200+ epic items, the Eridian Weapon Overhaul, which makes the Eridian weapons not suck, and more.
This game also sort of has mod support, but you can only access the good UDK with a retail copy of the GOTY version. More mods exist, like custom maps or ever a loot randomizer!

I'm not done playing Borderlands for many, MANY more hours. There is so much to do, but I mostly speedrun the game now. I'll enjoy the first Borderlands and try to keep it going for many more years. One of my favorite games of all time. Play this game and try leveling one character to the max at the very least, you won't be disappointed by what loot awaits you!

This could almost be called a speedrun, though maybe not as well.

Zup! 3. Minimalistic, yet calming for those who seek simple puzzles. Very easy achievements.

Just.. don't buy it. You can get this for free somewhere.

Want a game that can kill you in the very first minute of gameplay? This challenging classic-themed game definetely has that for everyone. This game has alot of features and even different classes that i absolutely love.
Don't forget about the different artifacts that can make the game easier (the artifact of Command) or significantly harder (the artifact of Sacrifice) This game has an incredible amount of replayability for such a limited game, only having about 6 stages, but you don't always spawn in the same place!

I am still playing more of this game even after writing this review. I have gotten used to it's difficulty but i still love every second of the challenge. Definitely recommending this one, even if it's an "old game" at this point.
