I have been playing RuneScape since 2003, I was a young child that did not know anything about the game, matter of fact, noone knew anything. The wonders of Gielinor were grand. Everyone just did what they thought was fun and exciting, however, after all of these years, everyone became obsessed with efficiency. Efficiency makes the game not fun, so don't strife towards maximum efficiency. People telling you RS3 is pay2win are right, HOWEVER, this is only the case when you crave maximum efficiency. Play the game, ignore MTX, love the world, the quests, the lore, the community and the progression over the hundreds of hours you will sink into this game if you play it in a fun way.
Tip: Get all skills to level 40 and do the Dragon Slayer quest, then buy membership.

Pros:
-Endless progression
-Fun, layered quests
-A giant world
-Infinite fun
-You will never quit

Cons:
-Kind of intrusive MTX
-Grindy game
-You'll have to pay for membership to get the full, GIANT, worth-it experience
-You will never quit
