A game so good it even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ revolutionized the zombie shooter genre with it's unique co-op mechanic

You get charged and pummeled to the ground by a charger? well tough luck, you better have teammates to back your sorry ass up

You get pounced by a hunter? same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥

Tank? that thing ain't going down unless everyone got their gun aimed and firing at that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ monstrosity or it's wiping the floor with you

Spitters? stop walking and huddling around like little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and move your ass to the safe room

Boomer? careful blowing him up too close or coming too close without shooting cause he's gonna vomit on ya and alert every single zombie in the area to come and eat your ass (not in the good way)

Jockey? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ giggling little idiot I hate him shoot him before he jumps on you and if he DOES then YOU BETTER HAVE PEOPLE TO SHOOT HIM FOR YOU CAUSE YOU'RE DEAD

Smoker? oh my GOODDDD STOP IT WITH THE TOUNGESSSS JUST ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DIEE (same situation, you get caught, you better have friends to save you)

Commons are just what fills the map and is what you sink most of your bullets into as it's the big zombie shooter part of the game, fun.

BEAUTIFUL art design and soundtrack, with fitting atmosphere AND special sound cues for the special infected, crazy.

THE DIRECTOR (yes this game's idea is that you're in a cheesy zombie movie) serving as the replay value and dynamic flow for the game, changes certain scenarios based on your performance and randomly generates slightly differing map locations for each campaign (still locked to a static number of "rolls" but good enough).

Characters are fun and memorable, I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love every single one of them, ESPECIALLY Nick, Ellis, Coach, and Francis.

Good weaponry to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ERASE the common horde with, though I do think the default first-person animations are ugly as hell for some weapons, modding fixes that.

Speaking of that, it's got one of the craziest and biggest modding scenes, with it's great integration of the Steam Workshop, it's very easy to access and get into, game doesn't have that many restrictions either besides for plugins and consistency (which you can disable, sv_consistency 0)
