Early Access Review
Factorio starts off with the player stranded on a planet. The player is surrounded by trees and ore... and vicious bugs, ready to kill. The goal? Build a rocket ship from scratch.

It seems like a daunting task, but with the help of machines, science, and a lot of ammunition, progress can be achieved.

The way the game is played is through building mines, power plants, conveyor belts, and machines to create various products, some of which assist the player in holding back the hordes through ammo distribution, researching new buildings, and supplying the player with miscellaneous personal items, such as power armor. The game is best played by optimizing what already exists in order to expand production further and easier.

The most enjoyable aspects of the game are not building a rocket, though. Sometimes, it is that moment when the player steps back to marvel at their base (or to laugh at, if you build a bunch of tangled spaghetti). Other times, it can be when the player improves upon his skills to create a better base than before. Because what you begin to realize is that the goal is not the real goal, but rather the creation of a wonderful base that can sometimes bring with it fulfillment.
