The Bad:
>The combat in 2 is MUCH more slow-paced and far more frequent. This leads to combat feeling repetitive and missions feeling like a slog.

>The upgrade system is very clunky and overly complicated. The level up powers are a little bit underwhelming too imo
>Little bit bummed by the limited armor and weapon choices as well.
>I miss the MAKO ;~;
>Dont care much for the minigames to unlock doors and boxes, etc. They are pretty slow and not particularly interesting.
>I feel like the space exploration gameplay in this one is a bit of a downgrade, due to the limited fuel and the probe grinding.
>Written info is presented in big gaudy popups that take up large parts of the screen and also disappear rather quickly. So information ends up being both ugly AND not very effective.
>The dialogue choices for Renegade also feel pretty silly in this one (more often than they did in 1). Most of them are just being a ♥♥♥♥ for the sake of it rather than being overly-pragmatic shortcuts.
>Some very cliche Hollywood plot armour moments.
>Some cutscenes (specifically with companions) sometimes felt a bit wooden/generic.
>These games were intended to be played as a trio ...why change all the buttons around between isntallments?
>Needing to make an EA account to play is mega stinky.
>Renegade/Paragon choices gradually change your eye colour (the scarring is cool though!)

The Good:
>I actually have to make use of all my weapons.
>Weapons feel fun to use.
>Good to see the OG companions return + consistency from ME1
>Legion
>Story is interesting enough and choices (often) feel meaningful

Overall, not a terrible game. Fun is very much possible.

PROS:
>The combat. Going Werewolf and wolfing all over ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is quite fun.
>Every level offers you the choice to go stealth mode or just transform at any given moment and rip ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ limbs off
>Serviceable enough skill tree
>Irish man drinks whisky to power up
>Main menu music (Alien Weaponry pog)
>You can run around the forest at night as a wolf. Brood in the moonlight, you furry devil.

CONS:
>Every level is EXACTLY the same.
>The characters, story delivery and stealth gameplay all feel really corny and undercooked. It's the bad kind of Hollywood. I mean, there's lots of potential here, but it needs more time in the oven.
>Again, the characters and story lack depth or complexity. Add this with the repetitive, linear nature of the gameplay and you dont have much left to enjoy...good thing transforming is so much fun.

TL;DR = Excellent bargain bin pick! Lots of rip & tear fun! Serviceable game that is just a smidge overpriced imo.

The core mechanics and systems in Dark Arisen are some of the best in the action RPG genre. Call me old-fashioned, but I think this game has aged like a fine (yet quirky) wine.

This is by far the most fun I've had with a puzzle game (I dont like puzzle games). Understated soundtrack is delightfully dark too!

Social deduction but with stat based dice rolls instead of socialising and reasoning lmao
It's kinda like a social deduction TTRPG

Characters are colourful and fun, soundtrack is pretty too. All in all a good deal of fun and a pretty unique experience.

This feels like Silent Hill and Nier: Automata had a baby.

This game is relatively short for survival horror (my fastest finish was just over 4 hours). The aesthetics, music and mood of the game are my favourite parts. The story was the weakest aspect of the game, but not a big deal really. I really enjoyed playing with CRT Mode turned on (check main menu settings).
Overall a very cute and comfy survival horror game with some really stirring moments imo

Edit - Have finished the game a couple times on both kbm and pad. Although the difference is nothing to really worry about: I recommend playing on a pad tbh. The controls felt more ergonomic and the vibration feature added a lot to my experience.

I didnt play the original but this was a fun ride.

The many ways you can customise difficulty in this game is really nice, particuarly because you could change any of it at any time from the menu. You can make it punishing and intense or you can sit back and push button.

Good characters, good music.
The story is excellent though I'll admit the way it is paced had me confused for the first 3 or 4 missions.
The game is an interesting pseudo-open world experience. You CAN free roam but there isnt much to do outside the story missions. Having said that, walking around and just sandboxing in this game feels very comfy and immersive.
