Early Access Review
The implementation of extraction mechanics in their generative open world "cycle" design is pretty great. The tension and losing gear and even power adds to the experience quite well. Audio design is especially fantastic so far.

The pace/flow/mechanics of combat despite being a bit rough is def in the right place. Bosses and roaming powerful mobs have especially been a joy to fight so far. I already had the overworld bosses deploy some of their top goons to eliminate me. The two I fought had very different mechanics and themes.

Gear uses a sort of durability system which means on death you don't instantly lose a weapon or piece of equipment. Instead 1 of 1-3 durability bars (from what I've seen so far) are removed. Once all these bars are gone the item is destroyed.

The hoverboard and glider are nice additions for both combat and exploration. That all said this is definitely an early access game. Performance is ROUGH (sub 60 frequently) and affects the gameplay experience with large frame drops and overall poor performance with limited graphics options.

If you want to support Heart machine and the game (and don't mind a bit of jank and chug) then there is something really cool here, otherwise I would suggest letting them cook in EA and checking back later.
