I truely did love this game for a long time, and i did give it chances upon chances after the developers continously mismanaged the game. Took me 523 hours to finally call it quits, the potential was there but amazon fumbeled it.

This game has a great foundation, but thats about it.

If you choose to play New World, be prepared for dissapointments, bugs, questionable nerfs and buffs etc..

One of the best game out there, however I find the combat mechanics/imputs very clunky compared to other games. But, if you're like me and dont like the combat mechanics theres legacy options available to the combat system, so you can completely avoid this.

This is a game you can truely play as you wish, casual, competitive and so fourth.

My honest review of Mordhau:

The game itself is amazing i must admit, the scenery and the frontline & invasion game modes truely gives you a great medieval and chaotic envoirement. However, the combat system has such a steep learning curve it almost feels like you're in a constant uphill battle. The basics of the combat is fair enough, i personally feel like i have a good understanding of all the basics. However, the combat is very much centered towards manipulating your swing speeds, wich in my opinion is a cool concept, but the animations does not follow though very nicely wich leaves you blind when trying to read your opponent (you have to rely on sounds, i think), it is also very much ruining the great immersion potential the game has.

The combat system also has a few "high level" tricks wich are not tought to you unless you know somebody who knows them, theese tricks are in my understanding bugs wich are left within the game as a "feature". The combat system is in theory fine as is, but i wish that animations would be polished more so you can actually read what your opponent is doing rather than "guessing" or knowing what broken animations looks like though 1000+ hours of brutal experience.

My conclusion is that if you're a casual player like me, you will have a great time playing the huge teamfight modes, but if you wish to be good at the mechanics in duels you're likely to get overwhelmed and disencouraged from playing the game. Unless you have a connection with a High level player that can teach you all the "secret" tips and tricks.

I have played this game for 260+ hours as of now and i still consider myself just as an entry level player, this in my opinion is not very motivating for over 100+ hours of playtime. I have 83 hours played the last two weeks to truely try and improve on my understanding of the combat system, this has very much been to no avail. The reason being is that you can be great at the basic mechanics of the combat system, but that doesnt really give you anything in return once you meet a player who knows how to manipulate animations in such a way that they're hitting you while facing the complete opposite direction.

To me it feels like the skill cap and abuse of mechanics has come so far from release now that, unless you have a coach or somebody who can guide you, you'll never progress past the entry level combat. On the other hand, a very positive feature is also the character customization menu, the amount of customization you can do to your weapons and armor is amazing. But due to the average hours you have to play to "get good" at the game i would not recomend Mordhau to new players as in the beginning you will not really have much fun or enjoy the game at all.

I do love the game, but it simply takes too long to learn the game and become good at it for it to be worth putting in 1000+ hours.
