This is the best FPS I've ever played.

The most accessible Monster Hunter title, with the most new-user friendly tutorials and interface. That said, the amount of menus and the like is still high, but it's all concise and organized in such a way that it isn't some herculean task to become accustomed to them. Controls and combat are great, however if this is your first Monster Hunter, that too will take some getting used to.
The graphics are gorgeous, the ost is fantastic, it's a very well put together game. There is extensive cooperation, However, the main story requires that both players view cutscenes before enabling cooperative play. Optional quests, and all other types lacking cutscenes are immediately available for co-op.
The sheer density of content in this game is absolutely staggering. Hundreds of weapons and armor sets to make, multiple tiers of all items, hundreds of monsters to hunt and capture, fishing, bug catching, ores and plants and all sorts of things to craft, it's borderline insanity.
Story is good, plentiful dlc of great quality, and always something to do. This is the kind of game you could potentially play forever if you wanted to.
Incredible game!

Now that I've played for a while, this game is pretty good. It's a sheer wall of strange mechanics and lots of waiting, compounded with an absolute assload of grinding, but the game is still really fun to play. Movement is fun, the weapon and frame variations are all interesting, the story is surprisingly good, and you could honestly never spend a dime in it. The devs are good folks who do listen to the players, and update fairly frequently with new content. There is so much stuff to do in this game, it's borderline insanity. Don't let that deter you, however. The community is very welcoming and will happily assist you in learning the game and finding what suits you best weapon and frame-wise.

TL;DR it is good, try it

Best Devil May Cry game. Having beaten every entry, i feel confident in that. I have bought this game twice for ps4 and pc, and beat it multiple times on each platform, and STILL haven't gotten tired of it!
Music is incredible, characters are enjoyable, mechanics are smokin' sick, it's all i could ever want in a DMC title.
This is a game i will continue to play long after beating every difficulty (whenever i can manage to do that, anyway).

I wholeheartedly recommend this game, especially the deluxe version if you can shill out a bit more dosh. The live-action cutscenes are an absolute joy to see, the musical selection increases even further, including tracks from every prior game except the reboot. The costumes are all nice, the game has a multitude of unlockables and difficulties, and the weapons are all incredibly varied and very fun to mix and match to see what combos you can make.

Certainly not something you'd play for the story, but if you want to feel like a big ♥♥♥♥ G slaying all sorts of werewolves with chainsaws and cod rejects in usually one swing of your shaft, it's certainly worth it on a hefty sale. Like, a dollar or something.

The first game that I have ever played that made me cry like a HUGE baby.

Do yourself a favor, and pick this one up.


You won't regret it.
