I love this game. I really do.

It's a great example of how passionate developers can push forward an excellent game at a sane price amidst a sea of $70+ cashgrab trash.

But as of the recent announcement that the publisher Sony will start requiring linking PSN accounts for PC players despite it not being a requirement up to this point (with no real argument for why they are doing so) I cannot recommend that you buy this game.
Sony deciding months after release to change this requirement is a slap in the face to their players, and until they reverse this decision (which even Arrowhead Studios, the developers, are against) I plead with you: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!

EDIT: In a first time for Sony, they've actually listened! no more PSN!

So, let's post an actual review:

I can't gush over this game enough. The shooting is satisfying, the environments and effects look fantastic, and it's a hell of a lot of fun to play with friends!
It's one of the rare games where I don't really care much about progressing through the upgrades as once you unlock all of the strategems (bomb drops/orbital strikes/turrets/support weapons) which are only level-locked, the rest of the upgrades are mostly nice-to-haves. Instead of that I can just enjoy the moment-to-moment gameplay, bombastic effects and the great combat.

It's admittedly not as good alone, but the community is mostly real chill so I can still just respond to SOS signals and do fine in any lobby I find myself in.
