Okay, now that that's out of the way, time for an actual review.

Path of Exile is an ARPG, A.K.A Dungeon Crawler, taking place on Wraeclast after your Exile from Theopolis, Oriath. After a shipwreck left you stranded, you must now try your hardest to survive the unforgiving and cursed continent of Wraeclast.
Speaking of the game's story in a review would NOT do it justice, as it's something that should be firstly experienced, and then theorized with on a forum.
But what if you don't care for stories? Well, you don't HAVE to dig through every piece of story the game has, but you'll definitely know of certain major story elements.

Now onto game play.
Path of Exile, is, as I said earlier, an ARPG/Dungeon Crawler, which involves getting better gear and getting currency.

In Path of Exile, your skills aren't decided by your class, but by your gear, and what Virtue Gems you've slotted inside their sockets, and with Support Gems, you can modify Active Gems with bonus stuff, like more elemental damage of a certain type, more physical damage, giving a chance to inflict elemental ailments, attacking faster, etc.
Sockets will have to be linked, however, for Support Gems to actually support the Active Gems.

Then there's the passive tree... it looks REALLY intimidating at first, but, well, look at it like a "road" of sorts to travel towards "landmarks", and it becomes a lot less like an intimidating feature and more of mapping a tour of France or something.

Oh, I should mention the monetization the game has. It's not P2W, or "Pay to get stuff done faster" like Warframe is. The only things you can pay for in this game are Cosmetics (which are really expensive tbh) and Specialized Stash Tabs, which are definitely worth it and a massive convenience.

Oh! There's also the free Expansions it gets every three months! It's currently at Heist at time of writing this, which involves robbing people blind and escaping, and an entire gallery of rogues each with their own reasons for being there, and motivations, AND questlines of sorts you can help them achieve. (I think I'm almost done with Karst's in particular)
My favorite "league" (name for the expansions) would have to be Delirium, which everyone can experience since it went "core." (part of the Standard League Experience)

I don't know what else to write at this point, so just PLAY PLAY PLAY!!

Ah, Dark Souls... The general gaming community can agree on one thing about it; it's hard. But not in the way you might think.
It isn't the type of game that just slaps bigger numbers at you, it isn't one which fires more hordes, it's one which makes you think about your encounters, and what to bring to them.

The enemies in this game have absurd damage... Granted, because you are already dead, but hey.
I'm getting off track, sorry.
When you fight enemies, they give you tells of what their next attack will be. An example would be the barbarians in Blighttown, who drag their club behind them and bend backwards to "tell" that they're going to do a foward smash attack, or Queelag, who falls onto her spider torso to "tell" that you should run away before the incoming explosion ends you.
It's a game that rewards paying attention and learning. If you're more of a "want to slaughter everything in sight without much thought" person, this game isn't for you, and Warframe would be more your thing. But if you want to experience a game with pretty damn great lore, intense bossfights, and rewards you for learning and improving? Get Dark Souls. If you're patient enough, you could beat the Asylum Demon at the beggining of the game with only the broken blade you start with by just learning his tells, and reacting accordingly.
