Let's start with the good;

♦ The graphics are amazing, definitely something you'll love (if you can run it).
♦ The variety of cars is vastly more than you'll care for.

Now that's out of the way, let's go through what you'll actually remember this game by;

♦ The disgraceful AI-on-rails (how did no one get fired over this, it's disgusting) on higher difficulties (highly skilled, expert and unbeatable).
♦ Inconsistent physics and rules.
♦ NPCs with the most annoying voice to ever be record disabling your controls to show their insignificant contributions on a map.
♦ You can equip the very first car ever made with ABS, traction control and stability control
♦ The grind for new cars and money; you'll earn far more money not actually playing the game and using the auction house.
♦ Inability to toggle car features without exiting everything except the game. Forgot to turn off TRC/STM/ABS before starting a (multiplayer) playlist? Good luck, you're now using it until you quit the event.
♦ Cars that (realistically) have TRC, STM and ABS cannot dynamically toggle between the on and off with a button. Apparently the Horizon hosts stole them from your car.
♦ You'll have to play the same routes over and over to get any progression after finishing them all once. Sounds to me someone got lazy.
♦ The map is TINY compared to TheCrew. It's 70km2, you'll have seen it all within the first few hours.
♦ A radio I wanted to turn off within the first hour of boring, bland, repeating music, and guess what? You can't turn off the game volume (but you can turn off the radio), and you'll hear the same rotation of uninspired music with every event you enter.
♦ Super Horizon 7 playlists killed by legacy challenges; the first 5 challenges are easy to do but then come the drag or sprint races that are impossible to complete without the (patched) bugs that made it possible. Moreover, the game seems to simply select the challenge based off # of likes, so you'll absolutely get the most down-voted and broken challenges in existence.
♦ There's no point or progression within the "story" of this game. You'll beat the end-exhibitions within hours and now there's nothing else to do. Smashing boards, completing all challenges or grinding tracks to get to max level? No thank you, you've completely killed my interest.

IN CONCLUSION

No recommendation on buying this game for me. Save yourself the money.
I tried the refund option, but sadly I (without success) tried to find something fun to do for too long.

Vague story and clunky controls, but nevertheless enjoyable gameplay. ~3h play time to finish the story

A visually STUNNING game, with combat and general design choices beyond idiocy.

Combat suffers from the trope of bad game design; damage for thee but not for me. Static charges, lasers and other 3rd party obstacles will eat away at your health like this game did at our fun, but would not do a single point of damage to the enemies happily walking through them constantly.

Likewise, the game acknowledges a perfect parry but is more inclined to say it didn't see ♥♥♥♥ and will pretend it never happened, resulting in applied bleeding, gas, poison or other forms of damage even after a perfect parry.

In terms of AI the game is no better. Aggressive bugs will come running at you like the developers/publishers are coming for your money. They will attack on sight, whether you're an actual threat to them or their territory, or not.

The world you play in looks great, and there are definitely some moments and spots that make you silent and just appreciate the visuals. However, the terrain suffers from frequent issues where attacks and/or movement (by bugs only, wouldn't want to have fantasy physics for everyone!) will go through the terrain. Additionally, the game does not make any distinction between surfaces you can scale or not, it'll without warning or reason slide you off a branch towards a death back on the ground.

The basebuilding in Grounded is great with plenty of resources around to build at your hearts content. Placing objects on the grid is a nice addition for those who want everything to be perfectly aligned. However, in some circumstances the object when placed on the grid is angled for unknown reasons - but it's not really a big issue.

For my playthrough so far, the bad has overwhelmingly outweighed the good moments in this game. The last unpleasant surprise so far was finding out this game's problems couldn't be contributed to being an early access game; it's a full release. I'm going to finish the campaign with a friend so my money isn't completely down the drain - but for me this is a 101% <NOT RECOMMENDED>

Seemingly abandoned by the developer(s) in such a bad state it wouldn't even be worth or fun playing if it were a free game.

The Farmhouse: cleared (4-players)
The Asylum: quit (4-players)
The Inn: not even attempted
The Town: idem

I'm coming Back 4 My Money... If I hadn't gotten it from a bundle and already paid more (less than a euro) than the game is even worth

+ Updated graphics
+ Weapon customisation
+ Shops in safehouses

Uh yeah that's kinda the good parts of the game

- Not a Left 4 Dead game (game best played remembering it has zero relation to L4D/2)
- No lore
- Card decks
- Pointless lower-difficulty grinding to make higher difficulties possible (see card decks)
- Void characters without any character progression
- Underwhelming infected
- Underwhelming hordes
- Underwhelming special infected
- Broken special infected spawns
- Weapon attachments that don't make sense (ACOG adds damage??)
- Chapters with either too little time between safehouses or way too much (not all of them)

Or watch this for more information https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdRLNUGmFC8

All in all feels like a "minimum (to no) effort for maximum profit" game. Barely worth it Free-2-Play.
