Excellent writing, excellent worldbuilding. The choices you make along the way hold significant weight, and it is more than possible to fail if you aren't applying the knowledge you have on hand. Very immersive and enjoyable, I devoured this game in basically a single sitting.

My only regret is that I couldn't condition my Roadwarden into more of a battle maniac. Granted, the 'combat' as it is, fits within the realistic confines of the setting and in a way reminds me of classic Witcher vibes, where having information about your enemy and the right tools on hand will veritably decide the outcome of a fight... So this isn't *really* a complaint... But i'll keep holding on to the dream of being a battle-scarred veteran, storming the roads smiting down bandits, howlers, and all the creatures that be.

Adorable. Challenging. Fun. I came for the artstyle and stayed for the gameplay~

Personally i'd like it if there was a little more meta progression besides unlocks, but I understand that would really mess with balancing. Also, the Emerald Lakeside theme will be stuck in your head for eternity.

The only thing wrong with this game is that Pekora isn't a playable character yet.
EDIT: She is now, the game is perfect~ :3

Hololive and its associated projects (Both from the company and its fans) are made with a sort of love that can't be conveyed beyond experiencing it. If you know, you know-- And if you've been wrongfully undercutting or discrediting it because 'Vtubers', then I'm sorry for you.

The good news is, you will enjoy this game even if you're a red-blooded normie, so long as you just give it a chance.

Dead Space. Arguably the best survival horror game of all time, in its way. An original masterpiece that has been taken and, quite surprisingly, improved rather than destroyed. Altman be praised.

Early Access Review
Updating for current timeframe-- STILL Looks great, plays great; and there's STILL a stream of great content being added and updated by the dev team. The new Biomes are visually stunning and the boss raids are good clean fun. The Pet and Livestock systems are just good enough to leave me without any real complaints other than 'I'd love to see more.'

Also, on a side note, I love the visual appeal of this game. It is living proof that spritework and pixel art is its own style and medium; and can be executed in fantastic ways. It doesn't have to be choppy, blocky, and ugly. (Looking at you, Stardew.) The Environments and atmosphere are top notch.

And you know what else is top notch? F***ing cool easter eggs. Tons of them. Just three examples--

Nausica of the Valley of the Wind
Made in Abyss
Chrono Cross. ♥♥♥♥♥, Chrono Cross. Talk about a game I didn't expect to see referenced anywhere soon.

The Devs are doing good work here and it is abundantly clear that they love their product. Every aspect of Core Keeper oozes with care and charm. 110% Wholeheartedly recommend it if this style of game appeals to you at all, and probably still like 60% recommend you try it even if it's not your usual cup of tea. :3

The gameplay is good, the artstyle unique...

...But at the end of the day, I am 90% playing this game just to hear Geralt read me a story.

The game itself is fine, pretty vanilla and some oldschool MMO mentality for sure, but that's not always negative. Overall it's kept me busy and given me something to do, and I would say it's not bad.

However, their server and player management IS bad. I would personally recommend, if you haven't purchased it already, holding off for a few weeks so as not to frustrate yourself with horrific server queues, world population issues, and being blocked from making characters where you want them OR transferring them to where you need them.

If Jeff Bezos does a good job stabilizing these things, I'll change my review. :P
