Hands down the best Rimworld clone out there.

Honestly not sure how you make a game as good as Warhammer 2, and then this. Even Warhammer 1 was better. It *looks* good, ill give it that, but too many issues right now.

Edit 10/8/22: With the release of Immortal Empires and a number of patches I am enjoying this much more. Still some work to do but its looking positive.

I could probably count on one hand the number of games ive actually finished in the last 10 years or so, and this is one of them. Really enjoyed the gameplay and story. Was not a huge fan of the optional Muspelheim. Niflheim was neat, but not a fan of the grinding process for that either. Otherwise enjoyed the side quest/optionals like the Valkyries.

Early Access Review
I'd prefer to give this a neutral review leaning positive at the moment. I like the difficulty, but the early progression is just a bit too rough.

I think what might help is having a pool of items and heroes to pick from as the default, versus full random?

Its a fun game, I see potential in it, it just has some pacing issues it needs to work out and it will be a lot more fun.

I absolutely love this game, and I didnt expect to. If, like me, you are put off by the font in the game, there is a way to change that thankfully. I only wish there was more, and that the warrior was maybe a bit better. The others two classes fare a lot better and have an easier time than him.

Green Planet has filled the void that was present in Surviving Mars. At the time of this review, first colony edition is $22 which has the season pass. This is a STEAL for this game.

Do you want to commit war crimes and atrocities with friends?

If yes, then this game is for you.

There are serious and casual groups out there. Find one, become a part of the community, and oppress the local populace.

The game is fun, simple as that. Everything you want from a Roman era game is there. I think we'll see some great changes over time as always with PDX games, some of it free, some of it locked behind DLC, but I've generally always felt they make it worth the while.

Its a solid start.

Cute and fun game so far. Will need a UI makeover for sure, but I find it enjoyable at the moment.

I love this game. I hate Paradox's DLC policy, but this game is quality, and I try to just view the DLC as funding Paradox's work these days to continue improving these games. Paradox is well known for making substantial changes and improvements, and Stellaris went through some huge changes in 2.0, and is about to go through equally big changes. Some of the changes are free, some of the changes are premium. It's not like some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ season passes out there, these games get improved for years.

It's probably one of the easier paradox games to get into, and personally, space-type games are my personal favorite. You really can't go wrong with the countless narratives that unfold in each game.

12/8/2018 Edit: I am coming back to give a small review on the 2.2 update to say I absolutely love all the changes they made. Before, the game, for me, was too simple on the economic side and felt a little boring at times. The pace has slowed down a bit overall, and there's more moving parts here. If you played pre-2.2 and you're looking to come back, just be aware the changes may not be for you if you were looking for something simplified.
