It's pretty good. It's more like Company of Heroes than XCOM though. Difficult and impactful.

Negatives : Has too much story. The gameplay is great but the game is afraid to let you play it sometimes. Like the first two hours of the game especially is low amount of gameplay.

Marine voice acting is mediocre + repetitive. There's one VA that does a great job but otherwise it's really eh for something you hear 200 times.

I enjoy claustrophic penal labor

Only bad thing is controller doesn't seem work at the moment. You get random jitters which doesn't work in this game, so I had to play on keyboard which kinda sucks.

It's a good JRPG. That's the main thing, so like every JRPG there's a bit of time wasting and going through menus. The gameplay is just a little above average. I do like how on Hard you have to manage resources a decent amount but at the same time the randomness of the game can be frustrating. (You can restart battles though but I would rather the game just be more balanced without restarts)

The game has a lot of content and the music rocks.
Amount of voice acting is a little lazy.
I don't like the protagonist especially in regards to the game's theme (I would not vote this guy to be King).
Class system is neat but nothing exceptional.

I like the art a good deal and some of the characters. There is a part of the game in the middle-lategame I enjoyed where the mystery ramped up.

The bad.
Cheap jumpscares (mostly during the first bit of the game then it goes away)
Weird fourth wall breaking sections that ruin your immersion. One of the "gameplay" settings in the game does nothing except to get past a section...
Bad design in that you have to hit text windows multiple times until it "clears" and checkboxes, which just doesn't respect your time. Really horrible, you have to hit everything multiple times over and over.
Absolutely horrible ending. I'm honestly amazed they thought this was a great or interesting ending to the game...

Helpie is the cutest and best character in Throne and Liberty. With Helpie the game is a solid 7.5/10.

Then for no real reason, Helpie goes away. Why would you take away the cutest patootiest thing ever? 2/10.

This game doesn't respect your time. It lacks basic features like your characters changing targets after the eligible target has been defeated. Going through the mediocre UI over and over is not fun. Grinding for the lame gacha fights is not fun. The combat system isn't great either though it could have been. The readability isn't there. The developers may have hours upon hours to waste mousing over dice windows but if the UI wasn't bad it would all be displayed from one screen.

The world is very interesting, but a bit too grimdark. (There's no way The City could exist with how many people are dying in this story constantly with many characters unable to go a day without killing groups of people). I think it's worth reading the story but skipping the gameplay. Even then, our "protagonists" are bad people and not super interesting, so it gives some mixed feelings, I mostly cared about the Guests.

It's just like Lobotomy Corporation in the end. Stylish ideas, bad execution. I want to like these games, but they don't play well. Because of the style and interesting storytelling, Project Moon has a fanbase. I just wish they knew how to make good games, and I'd be a part of it.

Now admittedly, if you have a lot of free time, the battles found in the latter half of the game could be very enjoyable and rewarding to overcome. If I was younger I could see myself doing so. But the game just puts too much fluff and barriers in the way of exciting content.

You can also see this with the achievement %s in this game. I don't think there's any other games on my Steam Library that have such a low % of completion, because people couldn't stomach the terrible game design.

Some of the Mili songs are bangers, though.

(I cheated with one hit KOs to experience the game's story after slogging through three hours and realizing the developers didn't learn much from Lobotomy Corporation.)

Damn this is a good game. Playing online is fun too.

The game kinda looks funny and has some readability/menu weirdness (I got stuck in chat for awhile and got hit a bunch) but it's just a blast to play.

Very unique feeling game. Might not have that many hours of life depending but the experience is interesting and fun. I have high hopes for future updates.

I hate to review EA but I also played a lot of Project Winter. Had high hopes going in but was quickly disappointed.

The developers didn't learn much from PW and in a lot of ways this game is more unresponsive and poorly designed, and has less variety than Project Winter. The melee vs. players (and zombies too at times) is unresponsive and unsatisfying, and you cannot leave the base if someone was fighting you leading to combat being too important. The map is kinda annoying with unintuitive dead ends. The escapes are a big step down from Project Winter (you just jump past a wooden gap at the moment) and there are other Player vs. Player problems that were pointed out in Project Winter but still handily exist in this game, due to the developers not listening to player feedback except from a small group of yes men, many of which who rarely or do not play in public lobbies. It feels like communication is a lot less need than in PW as well, because escapes require no input and you have the ability to loot places by yourself (even if it is difficult), unlike PW where the best way was to team up with other players.

+ Overall good combat system.
+ Cool systems like the path point menu and jobs for your companions.
+ Characters/weapons feel pretty varied.
+ Abilities are fun to use and impactful. Glory system is interesting.

- Minigames are kinda goofy, except for lockpicking which is fun imo.
- Bad pathing on overworld.
- Low enemy variety / repetitive combat system at points.
- Kinda repetitive and bad XP curve.
- UI is kinda bad in some areas.
- Scaling can be bad with enemies suddenly having 3x the HP of your characters.
