This game is essentially "Fist of the North Star Tycoon." If you like difficult CRPGs, Real Time Strategy, and City Builders, and always wanted a game that does all three? This is the game for you.

Fair warning: it's difficult and a bit janky, but that is kind of part of the appeal.

It feels like the developers' ambition was a bit too high, but their passion and dedication created a haunting result that no other game quite captures, even despite the jank and rough edges. The world building, the in-map storytelling, the atmosphere, the music, the style, it's just incredible. It's like someone died and haunted the game's code.

This is a completely unique game unlike anything else. I can't think of other games like it. Maybe the closest I can think of is Rim World, or maybe Mount and Blade? But this is so much better. It's part RTS, part city builder, part CRPG, part choose-your-own-adventure, part grand strategy, part survival sim.

The atmosphere is incredible. I've never seen a game with such a beautiful skybox. Creating a campsite out in the wilderness in Kenshi is a majestic and tense experience no other game quite gets. Plus, there are tons of mods, a dedicated community, and a developer team that recognizes that fact (with a weekly mod spotlight on their youtube account).

Absolutely a new top 5 for me. I can't recommend this game enough.
