I keep starting over because I don't want this game to 'end'.

I liked this game

There are too many mandatory visual artifacts for me to play: Blur, Film grain, Chromatic aberration, TAA. If you usually disable these in games, stay away from this one.

Platforming + exploration + puzzles with a slow drip story you can sink your teeth into, highly recommend

This is not a lazy remake. Heavy recommend to both new and returning players.

Edit: I unfortunately had to change this review to negative due to a permanent soft-lock bug at the ending of the game that prevented me from completing it. It doesn't seem like these issues will ever be patched.



Complex geometry, lighting, and fog that GPUs couldn't handle 15 years ago are used to full effect for extra spookiness.

The only flaws I can think of are that it suffers from stuttering issues even on high-end machines, and is fairly buggy - I've had to reload several times because a quest soft-locked and would not allow me to progress. It was annoying, but not a deal-breaker.

I wasn't expecting a poker-themed roguelike deckbuilder to be one of my favorite games of 2024 but here we are.

The replay value is incredible, it feels extremely polished in a way most roguelikes don't, and is still being updated!
