34 Hours over the weekend... what more can I say, its an awesome mix of survival games that makes me love this plus how they brought this universe in and it has little to do with the movie!

Enshrouded is one of those games that quietly draws you in with its atmosphere. The world feels haunting and mysterious, with a subtle darkness that lingers in the fog and ruins. If you take the time to dig into the lore, there’s a lot of depth to uncover, and it adds a real sense of weight to the journey.

Combat, while functional, still feels like the weakest link. It’s serviceable, but it lacks the punch or fluidity you’d hope for in a game where fighting is a core part of survival. That said, it’s never enough to break the immersion—the rest of the experience more than makes up for it.

Where Enshrouded truly shines is in its building system. Even back when I first hit the original level cap at 25, the construction tools were good, but now, after coming back for another playthrough, I’m seriously impressed. The recent updates have made building smoother, more flexible, and honestly, just fun. Creating your own space in this eerie world is incredibly rewarding.

I haven’t gone beyond the original cap yet, so I can’t speak to the newer endgame content, but starting fresh has been a far more enjoyable experience this time around. The game feels more refined, more alive, and just better all around.

If you enjoy survival games with rich world-building, a hint of darkness, and the freedom to shape the world around you, Enshrouded is absolutely worth diving into—especially now.

When Arma Reforger first launched, I’ll admit—I wasn’t impressed. It felt more like a demo than a proper game, with limited content and a lot of rough edges. But wow, has it come a long way since then.

Through consistent updates, performance improvements, and an ever-growing list of features, Reforger has matured into a solid and genuinely fun experience. Devs clearly took the feedback seriously, and you can feel that in how the game plays now. It's smoother, more polished, and far more engaging than it was at release.

One of the biggest game-changers has been mod support. The community has absolutely run with it, creating everything from immersive new missions to completely custom gameplay experiences. It gives the game a ton of replay value and makes every session feel unique. The tools provided are powerful, and it's awesome to see the creativity players bring to the table.

If you were turned off by Reforger at launch, it’s worth giving it another shot. The progress is undeniable, and with the modding community in full swing, it’s becoming a worthy stepping stone toward the future of Arma.

This is one of those rare survival games that manages to hook you in and never let go. From the gritty, post-apocalyptic atmosphere to the deep crafting and building systems, it offers a unique blend of survival horror and sandbox gameplay that keeps evolving with time.

What truly makes this game stand out for me is how far it has come over the years. The developers have continued to refine and expand the game with each update, showing real dedication to improving the experience. Watching it grow from a rough early access title into a fully fleshed-out survival world has been genuinely impressive.

Another huge plus is the incredible modding community. The amount of creativity and support from modders breathes even more life into the game, offering everything from quality-of-life tweaks to total overhauls. It’s amazing to see how customizable the game can be, and the community around it really makes it feel alive.

Negative due to new rule for PSN account
----Original Below----
For the price of the game I think its a worthwhile pick. I personally have a hard time with the game as it can FEEL repetitive, with the maps being somewhat copy and pasted to a point. Now I haven't played in about a month or so, and I will say they have added in a lot of interesting new enemies, and stratagems to help against them.

Overall I still recommend it for the $40 game it is but nothing more than that. Most of my friends have doubled and tripled my time. If you take my small amount of time, I still got entertainment for less that $4/hr

My original review after Update 7.0 wasn’t exactly kind—and for good reason. That update really hurt the experience for me. Firefights felt clunky and off, to the point where I ended up switching over to Arma Reforger as my go-to tactical shooter.

That said, after taking a break from Arma (right before the 1.3 update—btw, great update so far), I decided to revisit Squad, and I’ll admit—it doesn’t feel nearly as bad as it did post-7.0. I'm still not fully back on board, but I’ve shifted from negative to neutral, maybe even slightly positive.

There are still things Squad does really well. The communication system, for example, is something I really wish Arma would implement. It keeps coordination fluid and immersive. Some of the base game firefights, especially in the more modern settings, feel a lot better than I remembered—more engaging and well-paced.

That said, Arma still edges ahead for me, mostly due to the incredible modding community and how expansive and customizable that game has become. Mods make a huge difference, and that’s where Arma really shines.

Overall, Squad is in a better spot than it was, but it still feels like it’s catching up to its own potential.

They need to fix this - I just got banned for 24 hours because I couldn't reconnect after the game froze. I don't have a slouch of a computer either. Its happening to tons of people. IF and ONCE this gets fixed I'll think about changing my review.

I would not recommend this as then you won't be able to play with your team for 24-48 hours taking away your weekend.

--- Edit 03/15/24

--- Game is still doing the same thing and Ubisoft is STILL banning people for their screwed up servers. Come back for Y9S1 and first standard match I get frozen, attempt reconnect and no cigar. Get banned for an hour.... SIEGE FIX IT

Y9S4
Got banned for an hour because of a 'connection failure' from a new computer - 9800x3d 4080 super 64gb or ram... Oh and fiber gig internet. have video proof of connection failure and me attempting to rejoin. don't worry my discord, and no other devices were having issues either. just dumbass siege servers

Still don't recommend spending any money on this game, your better off pirating it at this point.

A lot are complaining knowing that Ark was going to release with major bugs - I was expecting way worse.

Graphics look way better - I run this game on a 3090 at 65% power limit and run medium settings mostly beautifully.

I crash approx once ever 1-1.5 hours so far - but I know it WILL be fixed, just like the last one. I'm not looking for a serious experience on here. I have had more issues with Nitrado than this game tbh so far - running a dedicated server.

Edit 1 - Optimizations are GETTING better - with my system (5900x 3090 32gb of ram) on High Settings i can mostly maintain a 60fps which is more than playable. i do turn off the clouds (r.volumetriccloud 0) is awesome.

Team17 Takeover is not in this games best interest sadly. Seems like it will only get worse. I hope not, but with a price hike, and a horrible update I personally can NOT recommend this game at this current time.

Its a very ODD game. It has so MUCH crafting, looting, challenge, 'puppets' (basically zombies), and survival.

The problem?

Lack of what to do, the leveling takes forever, you'd have to run hundreds of miles to get your athletic/endurance skills up to 3-4. Around 1 million shots fired from a rifle to get to 3-4 and so on. Fame is an odd system esp if you are on more of a PVE server.

speaking of servers, this is like a more "realistic" rust, so expect everyone to kill you on sight. the building is also more limited but imo a good way.
