Smite 2 is in a great state now. It's still missing a lot of the content from Smite 1 and the monetization is more questionable, but the game itself is great.

The most disappointing thing is that very little from your purchases in Smite 1 carry over. If you bought the God pack in Smite 1, you need to buy it again (at a greatly increased price) and all of your Smite 1 gem purchases amount to effectively 50% off a few select purchases in Smite 2. It's clear that Hirez would rather grub a few more bucks from everyone than even attempt to build some goodwill.
