Coming from someone who grew with Tekken as his primary fighting game, this installment is nothing short of fantastic. Mechanical changes, aesthetic changes, even roster changes (although the removal of Wang Jinrei was not called for, WTF Harada, he better come as DLC), but the true essence of Tekken is still here, and I think it'll always be.

And the best part is, this broke new grounds by bringing a character known only for 2D fighters into 3D (Akuma). This means that Tekken x Street Fighter is coming, and it will be a force to be reckoned with.

If I have to say one bad thing about this game (the Steam version at least), I'll say that matchmaking (even after the patch) is still a bit wonky in my region (South America), and the playerbase is very scarce. I think the playerbase problem could be easily solved by reducing the game's price to something more affordable OR putting it on sale.

But, all in all, this is a Tekken game, and real Tekken fans have nothing to be disappointed with. I hope many changes are made and famous characters are brought back in the future, to make this near perfect game come a little closer to that title.

Edit: Just editing the review for the nomination badge again, heh.
