By far one of the best of the "Diablo clones"

Honestly don't know why this gets so much hate, it's a pretty solid game. Is it better than L4D/L4D2? No. But I wouldn't say it's worse either. As a co-op horde shooter it's a good one and plenty of fun, overpriced but definitely worth a try when on sale.

Not a game so much as an artsy slideshow with narration about some cool symbiotic alien whales. It's free and the creature design is really cool, so it's worth an hour of your time if you're into animals and biology,

Basically an Overwatch clone, but without all the rabid competitiveness and toxicity that comes with the big Esports titles. Surprisingly fun overall.

This was one of my faves back in the PS2 days and is a bit underrated in my opinion. For a FF game I think the story and characters are a bit lacklustre compared to others in the series, but the gameplay is pretty damn good.
Pros:
- Still distinctly Final Fantasy, but more streamlined and... smoother? (My apologies, I'm not good at reviews)
- Gorgeous environments, music and monster designs.
- The graphics have been much improved from the PS2 days.
- Plenty of rare game hunts and side quests to keep the completionists busy for days/weeks.
- New Zodiac job system is much more user friendly than the old system and makes for more specialized character builds.
- The world of Ivalice is one of the best in the FF series in my opinion, with some great lore and a whole host of interesting races and the characters that belong to them.
- Combat occurs in world. No more pesky random encounters and seperate battle screens.

Cons:
- The main storyline and characters seem quite shallow by FF standards, it feels like all of the effort was put into the world and the art, and the characters and plot are just a tool to explore the world.
- The Zodiac job system is quite limiting and doesn't allow for a lot of customisation. Also by level 50 you've already purchased every available licence for every character.
- It can get extremely grind-intensive, especially if you end up trying to complete the bestiary. Personally I rather enjoy the grind, but if that's not for you...
- The gambit system to control the AI of your party members can seem stupidly complicated to some people and takes a bit of mastering.

My playtime lies, I've been playing this for years through Netmarble and then OGPlanet.
To put it simply Uncharted Waters Online is Eve Online but with maritime ships rather than space ships, and like Eve there is a big learning curve, a huge amount of content, almost complete freedom of what you want to do, a lot of grinding, slow progression, and the need to use a lot of wikis and spreadsheets. You've been warned.
Also the graphics are seriously outdated.
BUT it's so worth it. The scope of the game is huge, you can play however you like, and the slow progression just makes every little bit of progress you make so much more rewarding.
It's also one of the better free-to-play mmos out there, sure there's micro-transactions but no truly necessary ones and the game is just as enjoyable if you never pay a cent.

My gametime lies, I played this for over 2 years through HappyCloud before I started playing it through Steam instead ;)
This game is highly underrated in my opinion, and although it's an older game it still has a lot going for it.

The pros:
- Tolkien lore, sooo much Tolkien lore.
- Ever wanted to get drunk in the Prancing Pony? Now you can.
- Great community for an MMO, trolls seem few, people are friendly, player-run events a-plenty.
- The in game music system. You can use lore-friendly musical instruments in game to play ABC files of your favourite music, and even sync with other people in your party to form a band & play the same songs in time on different instruments.
- The free-to-play model allows for a pretty lengthy free trial period. After that you'll want to become VIP (a subscriber) to enjoy the rest of the game, HOWEVER you only need to go VIP once to unlock everything, and it all stays unlocked if you cancel your subscription, so it's not necessary to keep paying.
- Huge list of Instances, Skirmishes & Epic Battles to participate in.
- Player owned houses, and Kinship (Guild) houses which are all customizeable.
- Wardrobe feature allows for lots of outfit customization.
- Monster play feature allows for PvP battles while sticking to Tolkien lore.
- Extensive crafting system, & auctions of course.

Cons:
- Graphics are showing their age, certainly not an ugly game, but not the stunning graphics we're getting used to seeing either.
- Standard MMORPG mechanics. Nothing particularly new or exciting in terms of gameplay, basically just another WoW clone, but with Tolkien lore.
- Free-to-play is limited, you will need to spend some money to enjoy the rest of the game.

If you're a fan of Tolkien lore then definitely give it a try, if you're not, then there's propably much better MMO's out there for you to try instead. This game does stock-standard MMORPG pretty well, but it's main draw point is definitely the setting & lore.

This is stupidly addictive. I went without food for an entire day because I was too busy harvesting virtual food.
Food, sleep, friends, study, & other responsibilities? Sorry I can't; my house is being upgraded, I have to round up my chickens, and I think it's going well with Sebastian.

10/10 This game is going to ruin my life. Please send help.

Early Access Review
It has promise, I'll give it that. And if the devs keep improving it I might even give it another chance later, but for now I just can't stand it.
It has the worst, most frustrating controls & game play that I've encountered with this style of game. Sooo slow, sooo clunky. Movement is frustrating. Combat is frustrating. Interacting with anything is frustrating. Using the inventory is frustrating. Don't even get me started on trying to craft anything. There's definitely heaps of room for improvement there, and hopefully the devs will fix it.
If you're fine with frustrating controls, then by all means give it a go, but it doesn't really offer much that other survival games don't offer with much more polish.

I bought this game to make up for the fact that I have no love-life in real life, as I'm sure most people did. My relationships with fictional characters hasn't worked out any better.
But the art is seriously pretty, the storyline is interesting, the characters are interesing. Sometimes it's hilarious, sometimes it's made of feels, and sometimes it's just a whole lot of "what the hell?!" But it's managed to keep my attention for quite a few hours and I don't even get to stab things..

10/10 Would get brutally rejected by fictional characters again.

p.s. Who's making a Crazy Cat Lady simulator? I have a need.
