It's an odd game. Mostly action with a smattering of strategy. From what I can see the strategy mostly comes in deciding which order to level up your troops, but they'll all end up leveled up anyway eventually.

It ultimately gets a thumbs up just because it's good plain fun. Wait to get it on sale, though.

It is poorly optimized and so the system requirements are silly. They're not as bad as they're written, so don't be afriad to experiment. For reference I'm running it fine on a Core2Quad 9650 with 960 GTX. I average in the 30s on high even in the thick of things. It should be better, but it's playable.

It's fun, but I don't know if it's good. It certainly isn't a good Dead Rising game. It is best described as a zombie action game in the Dead Rising universe.

Map design is my biggest complaint. The in-game map is unlabled, the city layout makes no logical sense, and there are limited pathways (either opened from the start or discoverable) for faster travel, even after trying to learn the routes of the map (like you would in Dead Rising or especially 2). For a game with such an emphasis on vehicles the map designers seem very intent on not letting you use them to any great extent. My suspicion is the streets are so littered with non-destructable obstacles to limit performance degredation on on the Xbox One.

The entire game appears that it is trying too hard to be 'grown up', and instead comes across as inconsistent, drab, and washed out. Los Perdidos could be any post-apocalyptic city in any post-apocalyptic game, and you would barely be able to tell the difference. The bright, memorable colors of Fortune City are gone in favor of brown and grey washes.

Technically the game is a port through and through. It looks nice when cranked way up, but requires way too much PC muscle for the level of detail and polish shown on screen at once. Plays great with a 360 pad and the M&K controls are fairly well implemented and customizable. My comptuer is older but strong and runs it fine.

The psycho battles range from average to poor. These are definitely the weakest in the series.

The vehicles and weapons are fun, but the power scaling is insanely unbalanced. Some of the most useful and powerful weapons and vehicles are from the earliest missions. The driving design principle seemed to be 'make it bigger' instead of 'make it crazier'.

I have enjoyed the game and do intend to keep playing through it here and there to complete unlockables, but I am a bit dissapointed in the title as a Dead Rising 2 sequel.

Overall, I recommend the game only at a reduced price (25 USD or less), and only with the expectation that you're getting a decent zombie killing 'psuedo-sandbox' game instead of a true Dead Rising sequel.

It's a zombie game that doesn't try to be all s'rs. S'rsly, If you haven't played a Dead Rising game this is a great one to jump in on. Now even better without GFWL!

Perfect bite-sized strategy with all the 'one shot gravitas' and faux bravado a good round of Rogue Spear would muster. Part puzzle part strategy with some pseudo RPG elements. Tons of stock levels, a random mission generator, and a strong mission editor mean lots of replay value even if you never touch the effortlessly integrated Steam Workshop for mods or community levels.

It was an impulse buy based on looks and concept, and surprised me in a good way. If it looks even remotely appealing to you, get it!

Yes, just...yes!

Pointless, mindless shooting without all the pretense. Basically, this is a good version of Modern Military Shooter, just swap in Taliban/Russians/Spacerobots for zombies, and drop all illusion that you have any choice in where to go, how enemies spawn and react, or that you aren't a complete badass.

Get this game, blow up zombies, have a goregasm or two.

Oh and you can type, too, if that's your thing.

Dull, repetitive, over the top hero-shooter. I would expect a scripted experience from a Medal of Honor title, and I would certainly expect a bit of being directed down corridors. I didn't literally expect to be shoved down so many corridors.

I am not even going to be bothered to finish it. It's a shame to think this is what has happened to the Medal of Honor name.

The voice acting is more solid than the 'clipped movie quotes' of Lego Lord of the Rings, and the open-world aspect of Lego New York gives it a little more 'pick up and waste an hour' playability than earlier more mission-driven games in the Lego series. Lego Marvel Super Heroes has the polish and charm of Lego Star Wars Complete Saga and the action and solid gameplay of Lego Batman.

As a Marvel comics fan since childhood and a fan of the Lego video games, this is a fantastic purchase on both fronts.

DIsclaimer: I love open world games. Just Cause 2 is quite possibly the king of 'here's the map, do what you want'. Aside from a few brief early missions to introduce the grapple and basic controls, the game simply drops a quest marker on the map and says 'do what you want'. You are never forced into continuing the story if you'd rather just run off and explore (or more likely, blow up) some new shiny thing.

The game is good looking, has solid sound effects and voicing, and has snappy controls on the keyboard and mouse or gamepad. The story is solidly average, the side missions and diversions vary wildly from well crafted to trite. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts though, and the overall experience is a can't-miss, especially for some of the crazy low asking prices around here on Steam. If you pick this game up for ten bucks or less, you will definitely get your money's worth.

I only kinda enjoy MOBA games. I messed around with DOTA when it was an early mod, thought it was a neat idea but hindered by the game engine. I liked some of the changes Demigod brought to the style of play, but it was held back by its own laundry list of technical problems. The other clones have pretty much universally been lesser than either of those two games, or so wrapped up in their own money-making schemes they're flat out messes to all but the most hardcore players. DOTA 2 threw the baby out with the bathwater and ditched the engine that was holding the gametype back, but refused to change a few stubborn niggling elements (namely last-hitting and a needlessly long game time due to a drawn out early game).

Awesomenauts completely turns the idea on its ear, and the result is a faster, more action-packed, and frankly a more fun game. The depth is there, the breadth is getting there. Each map is different enough that you have to change up your tactics, no two characters are alike and two of the same characters can play entirely differently depending on which upgrades you select. Add a vibrant and fresh cartoon art style that is consistent all the way through from the sound to the color palette to the character back stories, and you have a solid winner. I am very glad I took the chance on this game!
