This is one of those games that does what it aims to do very well and just hasn't gotten the marketing it deserves, so it's been slept on. I got this game from the Humble Bundle, and had never heard of it before, but the screen shots looked interesting.

- The game plays like if you took zombies mode from Call of Duty and made it the blueprint for an actual full game.
- Controls are smooth, I feel faster and more agile than the enemies. I was able to complete objectives while avoiding an enemy because the controls are smooth enough.
- Gun variety is good, it's exactly where I'd say you need to be to have a full game like this. Could there be more? Sure, would love more, but it's good where it's at.
- There's a really solid amount of enemy variety, There are some basic enemies that all maps share, but they all also have their own map specific units.
- Each map has the guided half and then an optional unguided part after you complete the guided part. You can choose to leave or figure out the path on your own (Or with a guide outside the game)
- Lots of customization, though I would have liked to see more build customization, like weapon parts or skill trees.

All in all, this is a great game that just needs the publicity. If this game got on Gamepass, it'd likely get a lot of attention.

This is an easy game to recommend. I really enjoyed the combat, Shrinking the party to 3 and making it work more like Mass Effect was inspired and really works well with the ARPG direction the game has taken. The classes have a lot more options and build variety than the previous games, and they finally switched up the specialization. All of this really makes the game feel fresh, even if you never stopped playing Inquisition.

I found the story to be pretty good. The first 5 or so hours will be the tutorial and linear, but once you get past that, the game really opens up. Bioware has always been good at making companions, and this game is no exception. I particularly liked Emmrich, Davrin, and Bellara. The plot has good pacing and every side quest ties into the main quest in some way.

Quests feel fun because the combat never gets old, and if the playstyle gets old, you can always refund you levels and specc a different way.

If you're new to the franchise of have enjoyed the ARPG and more light-hearted tone the franchise has gone, then this hsould be another banger for you.

If you enjoyed the base game, you'll probably enjoy the DLC.

I don't see why this game gets the hate it does. It's not Bethesda's best game, but it is still a good game.

- The story is fun and interesting. It isn't a masterpiece, or even close to a masterpiece, but it does a good job of introducing the setting and getting the player itnerested.

- The ship building and customization is the game's strongest feature, and it is STRONG. The base game coems with so many different parts that an be used together in an infinite amount of different ways that sere both aesthetic and functional purpose.

- Ship combat is also a lot of fun. Not only do the controls feel good, but it's fun to test out your latest ship design and see how it does.

- Fallout 4's crafting system is used and it feels just as good.

- Combat is solid with a lot of different approaches. Rather than having one aspect of combat be amazing, the game does well in every category. It's only weakness is that it has no strengths. Your mileage may vary on whether you like this or dislike it.

- Lots of character progression with many skill trees, abilities, and lots to craft.

- NG+ is incorporated int he story and makes sense witht he lore, there are abilities that can only be gotten in NG+, and there's a chance for change from small and simple to big and far reaching to happen with the story or universe. One of the best NG+s I've seen.

People are still having issues, but I gotta say this game has been the cleanest, least buggy release Bethesda has had yet.

All in all, this game is an easy 7/10 that becomes an 8/10 once the modding scene ramps up due to the Creation Kit being released.

Got the game and both story DLCs on sale for 40 bucks total and got 42 hours out of a single play through.

It's a first person, open world, RPG in a similar vein to Borderlands. Like Borderlands, this game is all about killing hordes of enemies for loot. Unlike borderlands, this game is about gear customization not finding the perfect weapon rolls. The reward for exploration and quests is unique weapons that you can use as a base, blueprints for mods or perks that can be put onto weapons, or cards that you can use to create your build.

While every enemy is a zombie, there are A LOT of variations. The amount of different kinds of enemies encourages you to have different damage types, and keeps the moment to moment gameplay loop from getting stale. I was enjoying myself enough to do all of the side content available before beating the game. More content makes itself available after beating the game, and I'm planning on doing it.

The story is fun, nothing crazy, but it held my attention and was good enough when paired with the actual combat gameplay. Everyone says it ends on a cliff hanger, I think it more ends like they're planning on making a Dead Island 3. Reminding you that Reed is just the beginning, not the end of this story.

Got this game as part of the Humble Bundle. While I enjoyed it, the dirt cheap price tag makes it easier to enjoy. I don't think I would recommend this game with a 60 dollar price tag, maybe a 30, but definitely a 15-20 dollar price tag.

Played this since it came with the humble choice, and was pleasantly surprised. I've never played a Saints Row game before. It's a pretty goofy satirical parody of the genre. It's got about 40ish hours of play time in it, more if you do all the misc stuff that doesn't really matter to the story, but can give you a unique car you'll never use or something. If you'r elike me, however, and jsut do all the main story missions, any criminal ventures, and the DLCs, you'll get about 40 hours out of it.

I don't want to get too into the mechanics and so forth as it pretty much does the same thing that any game like it does. Just with jokes and parodies. So if you like GTA, you'll probably like this.

The thigns I didn't like:
- Most cars drive like a brick, and 7/10 missions decide your vehicle for you. So a lot of the time, you'll be driving a brick
- Side swiping doesn't feel good. I ended up shooting every enemy in vehicle combat cuz the mechanic is just cumbersome, often doesn't work, and felt ineffective.
- While the criminal ventures can be a grind, there are two in particular that are just bad. The first is the radio venture and the second is the saints store. The radio one is just poorly made requiring you to get to level 5 notoriety, but only trickling enemies to you making it really easy to lose notoriety. I had to just let one guy live and constantly shoot at me. The Saints Store involves stealing 12 green trucks that randomly spawn around you and despawn if you're too far away. Depending on your luck, that can be a real time sink for no reason.
- There isn't much for upgrading. weapons and vehicles can be upgraded thrice, and each has a signature ability. Outside of that, I had my full weapon loadout ready to go by somewhere between 3 and 5 hours in, and I used that loadout for the remaining 35ish hours. Same situation for vehicles. The game throws you a lot of unique and special vehicles, but none of them are very good. You're going to end up using the Tornado Helicopter, the Kenshin, and either the Fer de Lance or the Attrazione. You'll be given a hover motorcycle with a machine gun that you might use instead of the Kenshin, but the Kenshin is a lot faster.

All in all, I had my full build completed by 10 hours in and was just playing for the story the rest of the time. Not a fan of that, but I enjoyed the game enough to overlook it.

I got this game as part of the humble Bundle. It'd been on my radar for a while, but 60 dollars is a hard price tag to give it a try for. Glad I didn't. 60 dollars is too much for this game. Comparing it to other RTSes of the same price tag, there is just not a comparable amount of content. 4 races and 9 or 10 units each is just not 60 dollars worth.

That said, for 20 or even 30 dollars, we have a good game here that's easy to recommend. It has it's flaws, but otherwise this is a solid RTS.

The flaws
- Controls are clunky at times. There are stealth missions in the campaign, but your character will shoot as they are moving and alert things.
- Once a unit is in combat they're in combat till they die or you retreat them. means combat doesn't have position micro
- Only one map type. DoW got away with 1 map type, but it also had A LOT more faction content than this game.
- All races follow a similar formula for what units are available. Everyone starts with a melee and ranged unit, everyone will get a ballista unit. That type of stuff.
- Outside of the campaign, there is a giant gap between easy and normal. Normal was fien for me in the campaign, but conquest and skirmisher got very difficult. The computer is very smart, even at easy. The computer knows which units work best against what you are building and will actively build your counter. Even on Easy. I think the difference between difficulties is resource generation. You need to know your faction strengths and counters before going into a normal skirmish or conquest.

The Good
- Army Painter. I wish every Warhammer RTS had army painter. It feels good in this game and does what it's supposed to.
- General balance feels really good. Aside from the AI on the computer being overtuned, there isn't a unit that just felt too good or units that felt useless. Solid overall balance.
- There are enough units to create builds and compositions, and there's reason to change your build depending on what you're fighting
- Units are interesting. Though every factions starts with a melee and a ranged, units all play differently and either start with or can gain abilities through upgrades.
- Terrain matters. THis is a hard one for RTSes, but the terrain factors into the game in a healthy way.
-True to the source. I'm not big on Age of Sigmar, I'm a End Times or Age of Reckoning guy, but this does seem to be true to the AoS source material which is good.

Lastly, the fun factor is good. I beat the game, have done some skirmish and conquest, and plan to do more cuz it's fun enough. However, all of this would have been marred if I had to drop 60 dollars on the game.

This is a game that should have more buzz than it does.

Gameplay
It's an FPS that focuses on using magic. You "gun" is called a sigil and you can carry 3, 1 for each color of magic. Each color of magic has 3 different kinds of sigil, so there are 9 different guns to choose from, they all fire differently while maintaining a theme within the color. Paired with spells that also correspond witht he color, you fight against enemies that will also correspond with a color. Each color has a specific buff that the enemies can use and it requires damage of the same color to remove the buff. You combine your spells to manage the enemies buffs while they themeselves will have a variety of moves. There's a decent amount of enemies, but the formula doesn't need very many types as combat always feels dynamic and different due to needing to swap around your sigils and use different tactics for each enemy.

Outside of combat, the game is a linear story with large maps to explore. Exploring the map will reward challenging fights, fanes that test your platforming, and puzzles reminescent of games like Zelda or Darksiders. Continuing the zelda and darksiders formula, maps are open but have many secrets that require tools you unlock as you progress through the story. I spent hours clearing out the main area, but there's still a lot more I could explore post game. The game also has a NG+ mode for multiple playthroughs of the story.

Story
The story is great. Aveum is a unique world that walks the line between sci-fi and fantasy which lends to an eye-catching aesthetic. You play as Jakk and though you get some dialogue choices, the story is linear as you follow Jakk's story. The characters are all well written, and made me enjoy the cutscenes and dialogue. The story tiself is adventure with bits of drama and comedy here and there, however it is first and foremost action adventure and a thrill It never forgets this and doesn't let dramatic moments go for too long. THe world building within the story really stands out. Learning about how Aveum works was interesting and engaging.

Visual and Audio
I'm going to start off by saying the Audio was good, nothing to write home about, but it supported the rest of the game. The visuals ont he other hand are fantastic. The world has such advanced magic that it supplements the need for technology. This shows everywhere. There's no need for cars because people can teleport, there's no telephones or TVs because Aveum has scrying orbs, and all of the magic devices have a clean and sleek look that still looks magical.

This is an easy game to recommend anyone who likes FPes, even if you don't like exploring since exploration is optional. I could see a sequel being made and the game becoming really popular.

This game had a lot of potential and Ir eally wanted to like this game, however it is so incredibly clunky. WHich isn't a deal breaker most of the time for me, but in a game like this that punishes you if your control and timing isn't tight, clunky is a huge deal breaker. Especially at the price point. This is an indie game worth 20 bucks being sold for double that amount.

I love games that require tight button inputs and timing, however they also need tight controls. It's a common occurrence to have to press a button multiple times to pick up a weapon, grab a down opponent, and even do a takedown. Redundant button pressing is death in a game like this, and it really just add frustration that the game isn't balanced around being there.

I decided to stop playing and uninstall after spending and entire boss fight trying to pick up a weapon, and I'm just tired of struggling against the coding. It's not fun.

Good game. Requires internet connect for the EA servers to play though. It's May the Fourth, EA servers are down, and I can't play my single player game. ♥♥♥♥ EA.
