Been playing it since the Early Access. It's a very good game, with some pretty good synergies.
Sometimes synergies so good you deal 1k damage per hit, but ya know XD

Ya know, I was thinking of being merciful about this game. Give it a chance, ya know ?

Online only would've been fine enough... if only the servers weren't completely trash, and ESPECIALLY if they didn't hide a solo game feature inside a debug menu. They could've easily patched it in, but they didn't.
I'm writing this on the third day it came out. I thought that with the general discontentment, I would've had an easier time queueing for a game.
But then I got hit by a Matchmaking error. Immediately.

I'm giving this game a week.

I ended up in an area that requires a bit of trap dodging in order to pass the entrance. Then after passing through an area with enemies scattered, I opened a path to a shortcut to the second floor of the entrance, where a puzzle was located. Then, after solving the puzzle, I got a fight against a corrupted enemy, and behind that a special item. But in the item's room, there was a path leading below, with a locked door. After looking for the hidden key for it, I opened the door, got through another trap corridor, and got a fancy armour.
But then on the way back, I went through a path with invisible floors, used a special item I needed to interact with in order to reveal it to be a key, and open the door on the other side of the invisible bridge. Which gives a pretty good item inside, but then ALSO there was an illusion wall, leading to a crown that emits light. But then, after getting out and showing that crown to a specific NPC, I get a ring that interacts with it.

All that to say, this game is really dope. I finished it in Apocalypse difficulty, and attempting Hardcore mode now for the special rewards. I heavily recommend.

Update : I just beaten the game in Hardcore mode, and it was cathartic. The weapon you get from doing it is not only cool looking, but also damn good.
I'm gonna continue playing with friends, and when the DLC will come out. In the meantime, it's been a good journey.

Lots of people have mentioned before (and probably after) that there are lots of issues with queue times and server loads. And while it is true, I don't give a singular fµck about that.

No, my gripe with the game is that it suffers from the same problem that Warframe has : it's a fµcking GRINDFEST in order to get any new stuff. Characters ? Gotta pray that you get those specific materials, or you're in for a week of farming. Weapons ? Same stuff, different packaging.

And all that to keep you playing for enough hours that you can't refund the game anymore when you get bored. Nah, I'm gonna dip out early.

This game does, in fact, Hustle.

You're satisfied when you win.
You learn new stuff when you lose.
You have a cool replay in both cases.

Basically the early 2000's stick fight animations, in one game.

I started becoming addicted to this game, and I'm not even half-way through. I never saw it coming.

Very neat game, has you using your brain juice quite a lot.

If you're prone to have brain lock while under pressure, wouldn't recommend for you. Otherwise, you should give it at least a try !

A pretty short experience, but the combat is fast and rhythmic, the options of playstyle are varied enough to have one for each kind of player, and there is enough hours to sink into in order to get all the pieces of lore and collectables.

All in all, a good game.

The OST is a banger, the gameplay is a banger, and the dialogues are always quirky in each character's and adversary's way.

There are some stuff here and there that needs polishing, like some buffs/debuffs that lack a properly tied text localization, even in english... but certainly not bad enough that is making the game unplayable.

10/10, will kill enemies with mommy issues again.

Who cares if the battle system is different than all other Yakuza games ? Not only does it provide the same beef to your moves and attacks, but it still has the Yakuza charm.

I mean, you can summon a Chicken to help you both in battle and in your company management ! Come on !
