As a fan of the original series, I was blown away by the visuals and the action. The humor is top notch and wang is on point with all of his one liners. If you're a fan of first person shooters, I highly recommend this one. There's enough perks here to extend replayability and I'm finiding myself coming back to it quite often.

While most of the opinions on how Fallout 4 didn't live up to expectations is valid, I wouldn't say it's too horrible and if you give it a chance and accept it as a more relaxed Borderlands with crafting, then you should have a pretty good time. I haven't gotten the DLC yet but there is so many quests (aside from the radiants) and random encounters, I feel I still haven't seen a good majority of them. That said, there is SO MUCH hidden in this game, I believe many people are just playing the main quest along with a few side quests and NOT EXPLORING that they are missing out on quite a lot.

While fast traveling is well and good if you want to plough through a quest, give the game a chance and actually do what the world expects of you and wander a bit and you will be rewarded for it.

Regarding the paid mods issue, I don't have any issue with paid mods if they're DLC sized and add such a value to the game that they are comparable to buying another title and the 'horse armor' mods really need to come down in price...like 1-5 points would be reasonable. So far, Bethesda's failed miserably, one can only hope they listen to their fanbase before making things worse.

Early Access Review
So far, so good. Really liking the game but it can definitely use improvements level-design wise. But since it's early access, I won't complain too much.

First the good:
Decent story that gets revealed as you play with a very likable protagonist.
Fun games that throw in a good amount of classic fps genres. Whether or not you lived through the evolution of the fps genre, you'll have a good time dodging and shooting.

A couple of criticisms:
Hallway level design - I hope these are just placeholders. Very long areas of running to stretch out gameplay does not a level make. Please, PLEASE put a little more thought into the level design. I'm not asking for id style complexity. Just get rid of the damn 'hallways'. At least pepper it with an occasional respawning enemy or more interesting scenery than mountain walls or walls. Or digital walls. tl;dr TOO MUCH POINTLESS RUNNING.

the gravity in the tournament game needs a smidge more tweaking. Too much time is spent in the air instead of running on platforms.

Ok. I'm done ranting. Overall the game is still fun and has potential to be even more so. It just needs more work.

Don't think that because this is a 4 player co-op game, you can't play it alone. The A.I. players often play better than other people in the sense that if you're hurt, they'll go out of their way to defend you when an infected captures you, or bring you a medkit or patch you up when you're low on health. If you love fps's and haven't played l4d, you're missing out on a great experience! Even if you're not into zombies, there's great gameplay to be had and a variety of weapons to take down opponents in gloriously gibby ways! Give it a try, you'll be glad you did!

It really doesn't get any better than this. Expansive world, gorgeous scenery, hundreds (thousands?) of quests (and infinitely generated quests after you're done with the main/side quests) and varying play styles depending on how you choose to focus your abilities. Where this game will really shine though will be with the modding community, there's already over 1000 mods hosted at the SkyrimNexus!
