There was a point where Dead by Daylight was fun to play on both killer & survivor. However, the developers changes to the matchmaking system, perk balance & business practices really kills the game for me.

The matchmaking is a mixed bag & generally takes too long to find a lobby, especially if you're in a full group. Waiting 5+ minutes to find a match will often last longer than the match themselves. The skill gap between solo queue & group queue can be quite big.

When the developers decided to nerf Iron Will a few years back, that's when you know they got no idea on perk balance. I'm not 100% sure on the reason, but usage shouldn't be the only factor. Don't worry, Iron Will was eventually revert to it's nearly good state & now is only held back by it's exhaustion restriction.

They've removed non-licensed DLC such as Tools of Torment & Forged in Fog, then bundled them into the Endless Hunt Pack. However, this bundle doesn't apply a discount for any owned DLC meaning that if you're only missing 1 DLC, then you'll have to pay more than the original price. While this Endless Hunt Pack includes the DLC exclusive items, good luck trying to get them in the Terror Expansion Pack or Escape Expansion Pack.

Abysmal compensation in general, such as Leatherface hidden masks getting removed to side step an issue affecting a minority of the player base while still not fully addressing it. The amount was 600 Iridescent Shards & honestly should've been Auric Cells due to the fact this DLC has to be brought with real money.

This game is perfect if you got no friends or want to lose friendships. It's simple yet fun & the difficulty does scale based on the amount of players.

Honestly, you're getting a lot for £12.79 & it's worth trying out if you're looking for something a little bit different in the heisting genre. This also comes with all 4 DLC as part of a limited time offer on Steam's initial release.

The main campaign is a single player Roguelite. It's a Roguelite & not a Roguelike due to being able to level up your Boss Level to gain permanent upgrades in the current & future runs. It's basically a Turf War & taking out the other 4 bosses is how you win this game mode.

The multiplayer mode can support up to 4 players online or with bots & can be played with your own Boss or unlocked characters in a selected job or a random set of jobs in sequential order. There's also another mode called Urban Legends which uses preset characters in a set of jobs in sequential order. Each set has a theme & is similar to each major heist in the campaign with a short story & narrative.

Your Boss is effectively the character you build from levelling up from playing any game mode. Playing the campaign & beating it will also unlock more appearances you can use in the multiplayer mode. Otherwise, you can unlock 1 item from a choice of 3 items each level up.

The gameplay such as the looting & some parts of the stealth such as takedowns or moving hostages is pretty good. The gun play in loud is average at best as it's hard to shoot or identify major threats at medium to long distance & the stealth in the bigger heists needs to have a bit more depth. In terms of depth, it seems some heist such as The Hidden Vault in multiplayer will go loud regardless of your approach & it's unclear if this is intended or not.

The weapon customization is lacking & it needs to have some more depth in my personal opinion. They're a key part of the gameplay & therefore should have something to show for it for both loud & stealth. This might also help identifying major threats as a lot of weapons lack scopes for medium to long distance. Trying to unlock a gun with a Suppressor is complete RNG & not every weapon supports it.

Overall, Crime Boss: Rockay City is better than Payday 3 in almost every aspect except the stealth & gun play. Payday 2 is still the best in terms of the amount of content & customization although it's basically unplayable online without mods in it's current state. For the current price & offers, it's worth trying out & given it's still in active development. Well, new adventures await, buddy.

Based on the coverage by Rev says desu regarding the Kirsche situation. The developers & publishers handling of the situation was done poorly & sets a bad precedence in general. I personally never heard of this VTuber but for the developers & publishers to drop someone who's supported this game over some malicious articles. That pretty much has broken the trust with the community & brought over groups of people who in my opinion, mostly don't care about the game.

I was looking forward to returning to the game to try out the new content once I've updated my PC specs but now, I'm pretty much on the fence due to this whole mess & aura around it.

Adding Enigma Protector DRM after release is a scummy practice. I wasn't aware of this change until recently as there's no official post on DRM being added or being listed on the store page.

In general, DRM doesn't prevent piracy as someone who wouldn't buy your game isn't a customer to begin with & often DRM will instead provides a worse experience to actual paying customers. It's case by case but it can often lead to performance issues especially on older systems & make your PC more vulnerable to attacks in future. No developer or publisher should be adding DRM to their products as this overall will hurts consumers as it can prevent them from playing or modifying their games.

In terms of modding, there shouldn't be any issues with it especially in a single player game & should only become an issue when it's negatively affect other players. To clarify the online aspects, a privately hosted sessions or a 3rd party server which states the mods is fine & some games even include this in the official server browser.

In terms of the game itself, it's a fantastic game to play with friends despite some minor issues with net code & inventory management. This is also where Albert Wesker shines the most in terms of his appearance in this franchise. It was one of the best versions to get with the option to play either the Games for Windows LIVE or the Steamworks version until the update in 28th February 2023 which added Enigma Protector DRM to the Steamworks version.

Who doesn't want to see Chris punch a boulder?

It's like Gang Beasts but more fun due to the unique power ups that spawn over time. This game also features Team Score & Arcade maps. However, it mainly shines on the Last Stand maps due to how each map changes over time to break stalemates. The controls are more simplistic than Gang Beasts which is both good & bad.

The main issue with this game is the fact it's online only with no offline support. It also features a timed store with loot boxes for anyone who has a problem with fear of missing out. However, there's plenty of base cosmetics through achievements & player levels to not be too much of a concern unless you're a collector or like certain crossovers.

RoboCop: Rogue City is a walking shooter with a bit of detective work. The game's timeline takes place between the movies RoboCop 2 & RoboCop 3. It roughly takes around 16 hours to complete the main story, all side quests & obtain all achievements. As a note, my save data is from the demo which took around 3 hours to complete.

The gameplay is solid for the most part & the physics is wacky but fun. The movement system is intentionally sluggish as the game is trying to mimic RoboCop. It's recommended to do any side quests you find to help to level up RoboCop more.

This game does revisit areas as you progress through the story & it can feel repetitive at times but it's for a different narrative. This often leads to new areas which was previously blocked off but can now be accessed during that mission. I'll still recommend to explore returning areas to find new collectable & new side missions as not all is marked on your Objectives.

The skills adds passive benefits & new abilities for combat or exploration. I'll prioritise your Deduction skill as that provides more XP bonus. I'll recommend saving at least 2 or 4 skills before spending them to meet each tier of whenever you need at that moment.

The Auto-9 upgrades is very important for late game due to tougher enemies & bosses. I'll recommend exploring the map to find chips & motherboards which is mainly in OCP containers or laying about the level. There's a bit of RNG using the Chip Merger for unwanted chips but I'll recommend fully upgrading your Engineering skill before proceeding. The key to using the motherboard correctly is to bridge the connections to the various bonuses while avoiding the penalties which applies to all stats. Some paths or modifiers may also come with unavoidable penalties & not all motherboards have the same modifiers.

This game does lack the ability to manual saves & requires you to progress into key points in the mission or load into a new area to auto save. This is quite annoying if you happen to die as you'll need to pick up collectables again after loading to last checkpoint.

This game doesn't offer much replay value after completing the main story. You can't bring your fully upgraded RoboCop to the start of the game hence why doing all side quests you come across is key. There's a save for the start of each mission so it's simple enough to return to a mission to complete an achievement you might have missed.

For DLC owners, the OCP Shotgun is given to you at the start of each mission (in most cases) but doesn't have a way to restock ammo.

Payday 3 refines on its game mechanics from Payday 2 for both stealth & loud. The gameplay is similar to Payday: The Heist relying more on team work rather than what skills you bring to get through a heist. The game currently features 8 heists which are all unique, 19 weapons (11 primary, 6 secondary, 2 overkill) & 6 playable characters (5 returning & 1 new).

The user interface feels too simplified & doesn't have the unique charm like with Payday 2 Crime Net theme. The navigation is terrible & the game doesn't offer the same features we got in Payday 2 such as renaming weapons, rearranging inventory & detailed weapon statistics for example. Honestly, the user interface feels like left over code from Overkill's The Walking Dead such as when selecting the heist. Don't even get me start on the vendors menu, just finding a weapon you want is a pain for example.

The game is currently online only which means you can't host a lobby offline & can't pause in a "solo" heist. You can still matchmake with friends only or invite only filters but you're still relying on their server to be up 24/7. After completing a heist, you're sent back to the main menu instead of the lobby like in Payday 2. This ruins any social aspect of the game as you don't get to keep playing with the same group of players.

The experience purely tied to in-game challenges & progression after the first few levels is a chore unless you keep changing your play style for the better or worse. Personally, challenges should aid in levelling up but not be the sole focus to level up similar to Payday: The Heist. Payday 2 experience was purely tied to the heist progression & will likely not sit right for many players coming across to Payday 3.

In terms of the gameplay changes for stealth, being able to finish the heist while in casing mode is nice. Most of the heists is built with this playstyle in mind except for 2. The 2 heists in question is either loud only or requires you to mask up to enter the area unless you're in co-op.

If you're in casing mode & you get caught in a private area, you're just sent back to the public area with a warning instead of the guard alerting everyone like in Payday 2. Some guards carry keycards you got to swipe while they're patrolling & it has multiple uses. There's no body bagging anymore & you can simply move them whenever you want.

In terms of the gameplay changes for loud, there's a negotiation phase added at the start of most heists where you can trade hostages for time. As long as you don't do any hostile actions, you can use this time to make progression in the heist.

The overkill weapon system currently lack any choices of weaponry & the poor placement when called in. It also drops whenever you swap weapons or downed & anyone on your team can take it.

Lastly, final charge phase is just stupid especially when it's during the first assault wave. That phase triggers when you're near the end of your heist & not based on heist length, the special van enemy or punishment for killing civilians. I'll rather have the point of no return from Payday: The Heist or Payday 2 since that's usually tied to getting to the escape vehicle.

Overall, the game is not worth it's current price & needs some serious updates before it's in a good state. I'll recommend buying Payday 2 or Payday: The Heist on sale & give Payday 3 a few more months to sort itself out.

Early Access Review
The developers decided to remove a Twitch extension called Mischief Maker for breaking End User License Agreement. This mod took 20% of the Bits used on their Twitch extension which was the reason for the ban. However, the official Twitch extension made by the developers also takes the same 20% of the Bits used on their Twitch extension & was developed some time after Mischief Maker. This can be seen as taking out the competition more than removing a mod which is breaking the EULA.
