I wanted to like this game but like
It doesn't really feel scary. Most of the monsters are more gamey feeling/arcadey than anything suspenseful or genuinely alarming - like dodging ghost shark projectiles or avoiding mimic wrecks.

I like basically everything about the game outside of this - its annoying because the one time there is a scary monster its done excellently and they show that they can do this kind of oceanic horror well - that monster being the leviathan. It has some scripted encounters and some encounters that feel more unplanned, and its built up well by some early characters you can speak to. Seeing this gigantic thing swimming close and ignoring you and then possibly attacking you feels legitimately tense/scary and especially when encountering it on the open ocean.

Just nothing else feels like that. I want more things like that. It sounds like a minor complaint but I'm paying for horror, so I want scary.

Has no right being as fun/good as it is. Only complaint is late, late game can be a bit fiddly, and I wish that (spoilers) (spoilers) (spoliers) more was done with the adventuring party feel that the end game had for me.

This isnt really a strategy game as advertised, you cant split your squad at all. Its more like an RPG. Thats fine if youre looking for that experience, but I was hoping for more like a real time xcom or squad strategy game.

This is the best head collecting simulator money can buy right now. I've gotten so many dead heads at this point that I cant carry them, I can afford to be picky. Dillion Rogers and New Blood Interactive have made collecting limbs so much fun. Thank you John Gloomwood.

i hate this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game

Crashes on launch with a black screen.

It's weird to not recommend a game I'm immediately going to keep playing.
Twice now I've had runs interrupted by bugs that have just flat out killed my character. Sometimes I'd get late into the game too, and I'd really be getting into the move, only to die to a falling bug or something.

There's so much jank and unecessary clutter. I don't care about dialogue with the Witch when I've done it twenty times already. Just let me get my items, skip the dialogue and move onto shooting.

The core loop of cover/shoot is amazing. It's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun. But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game is janky and buggy. When that's fixed, and when i can skip the dialogue, I'll be happy to recommend this.
