The main appeal of this game (the multiplayer) hardly works, and while it pains me to have to even give this a pass, I really don't understand the overwhelming amount of mid-2000s games getting very shoddy PC ports with no love.
It was fantastic on Xbox 360, but here it's absolutely abysmal with how the online hardly even functions on a playable level.

If you want a game like this, just play Castle Crashers. It's not as bloody or edgy, but it should still give that same, satisfying feeling, and is from the same timeframe.

It's... entertaining, though it doesn't feel like a game. I more feel like I'm watching something happen than actually doing, where the most you can do to really add the "skill" is to funnel glyphids with mining, walk near exploders to have friendly fire go off, and just having enough senses to not get cornered.

The upgrades are basically always just "pick the legendary" since unless the legendary is something unappealing like "+70 HP," you'll only be abandoning those if there's an epic that fits the build slightly better.
Maybe I'm missing something? I currently got to Haz3 and it's mostly been more praetorians and a lot of stabber vines and spitballers.
I don't quite like you have to basically throw runs to make your weapons more usable on higher hazards as overclocks are essentially free super upgrades.

It is addicting and hard to put down, runs usually lasting about the same time as a normal DRG mission if you know what you're doing.

I dunno, I bought it to support the devs, and I find it enjoyable, but not quite *fun*. Maybe watch some gameplay before you pick it up. If you like what you see, it's basically that all the way through, regardless of the biome.

Only reason I can't suggest this game is because they didn't even TRY to get the multiplayer from the Xbox 360 version working on PC.

It really could not have been that hard.

Probably one of the best horror games I've ever played in my life. I think it's for the sole reason that none of the sounds or scares are cranked up 300% over normal volume in an attempt to blow out your ears for a slight chance at making you jump.

This game features NO jumpscares (in the sense of being intentional screamers), and all encounters with entities are going to be unique for everyone. This is doubly important considering its multiplayer aspect, and just to move onto that topic, it's very good. I've only had issues in the lobbies, and everything else is practically perfect. Somehow, bringing more people into the game makes it both less AND more scary. The way the wildlife interact with you and your friends at the same time make it extra spooky when you watch your friend die right in front of you and you only get to watch them drag them away faster than you can even run.

Considering the type of game this is, I think going in as blind as possible is your best route to having a good time. You don't want to miss out on a game like this, especially when it's such a low entry price to play with friends, or even strangers.

Please play this game.

One of the only games that makes carrying practically useless items across an exceedingly dangerous world for hours at a time fun.

This DLC makes that a requirement to beat at least 2 of the campaigns.

Imagine Pokemon, but they permanently ban you if you play with a friend that's too high of a level or take an item from the wrong person.

Oh yeah, and a battle pass. Great.
