Fish Fear Me has expanded on the unique mechanics of Heather Flowers' first game Snake Farm while also adding some new mechanics that to create another game that offer something truly special.

Still in the early game but this is shaping up to be one of the most interesting Idle games out there. Highly recommended.

tl;dr: This is a solid shump that has a fairly narrow scope and executes well on it.

This game is a standard shump where each of your lives has been replaced with a unique pilot which have their own stats and ship loadout. When you lose a life that ship explodes in a blaze of glory and is replaced with your next pilot. Once you have lost all of your pilots your score becomes money that you can then spend on a new batch of pilots.

The graphics and voice acting are well polished in a rough, retro way. The controls are tight and responsive and the hit boxes are good. The mini game of combining crystals and managing your energy add some depth to what is otherwise pretty simple gameplay.

My one major complaint is there is no way to save your progress and that makes the game less conducive to short sessions. There have been a couple times I've wiped and ended up with a good number of points and realized I didn't have time to keep playing. Exiting to menu loses all your progress, if I was to sit down to play this some more I'd make sure I have at least 30-45 minutes to give myself a chance to complete the mission.

Overall this is a solid game with an interesting mechanic, if you are a fan of the genre it's worth checking out.
